Sel Caerilcarn ath Myra
The ruling caste of high elven society, this council creates the laws that drive the day to day lives of their citizens and preserve the traditions of the great city Eladriel, which is a city built upon a gigantic tree, known as the Myrasil. This governing body is generally very wise, and places priority on culture and tradition over foreign policy (which is generally complete non-interference).
As the largest elven city in the world, the Sel Caerilcarn ensures this land is protected from the uncivilized ruffians of the world that would exploit the natural wonder of their land for profit. Only natural or extremely simple settlements are permitted in this wild land of mystery. Many wonders await those daring and bold enough to brave the dangers that lie within. Eladriel law is enforced practically throughout this entire continent, only circumvented by a few tribes of druids and non-elven communities.
They have a seemingly simple, yet extremely intricate society that has been refined with grace and eloquence throughout the many ages they have existed. It starts at the top with the Shee Cor'Quessir (fae king), who commands the army as commander-in-chief in times of war, and mediation between councilors who disagree too intensely. Below are the councilors, who are the best in their respective fields --from wielder of arcane magic to talented artist, farmer or general--. Elven culture puts much pride and weight on beauty, thus occupations and talents that some races attribute to lower classes, elves take quite seriously. Art, wine, cooking, music, great warriors, scholars, wizards, farmers, and many others...experts of these could hold titles of nobility within high elven society, and masters are invited to join the council. Anyone that excels at something vital to elven culture, society or their way of life could hold such a title, and be approached to join the governing council.
