Pale Moon Citadel
This giant stronghold could be listed as one of the most well-defended, most distinguishable fortress cities in the world. The citizens of this city are generally skilled in martial combat, and have a long history of combat and war. This city has never once been occupied by a force other than the military of the Pale Queen, the drow ruler who initially built the fortress with the aid of duergar allies.
It is naturally protected, being up against a dense mountain range, and has access to underground springs and caverns that grow plentiful food. It is set high on a hill, and the fortress itself has a labyrinthine design. Only thrice have the walls been breached, and each time the attackers were not prepared for what awaited them within these deceptive walls. It has been called unconquerable by most intelligent strategists. Beyond that, the people living here would fight with the strength of ten to defend their home from intrusion.
