Discoveries on Pele provoke scientific advancements.
Depending on who you ask, referred to as both the Obsidian Enlightenment, and the Obsidian Backlash (one is obviously more formal). Using certain technologies discovered on Pele (moveable type), certain factions copy and distribute scientific literature. Temple begins enacting censorship policies. Emperor Tostien leads the charge once he’s on the throne, being very interested in academia.
