Vesi, the world

The World, The God

the patron god of the world/

According to the Vopa, Vesi is the name of the world that fought with Azatara inside the egg laid by Dijiva before the start of life. In the fierce battle, Vesi was injured with Azatara's bite, but when the egg hatched prematurely Vesi took the teeth for itself. These teeth became the wormstone that forms the foundation of the Vopa religion.   A sect of the Vopa dedicated to Vesi, Libo, worships Vesi as the source of all life in their world and dedicates holidays in their honor.

Divine Domains

According to the Vopa, Vesi is the world that the Vopa live in and all of the entities inside of it. Everything is thus divinely touched with their power and this power is accessible by magic. While magic is within their domain, the Vopa have a complicated relationship with respecting its power. Because they believe that Azatara has been wronged by Vesi and they wish to restore the god's teeth to them, Vesi is seen as a much lesser god and has much lower prominence in everyday Vopa worship.   The cult of Libo, on the other hand, prizes the role that Vesi plays in the creation of the world. The sect is an offshoot of Vopa that specifically dedicates themselves to Vesi, ignoring the call of Pemija to host astral creatures in their bodies. Members of Libo can easily be identified by their lack of mutations.

Holy Books & Codes

Commentary on the Parasoza describe Vesi in varying terms. Some writers describe them as an ignorant and weak beast, lesser to Azatara, while others venerate the source of their existence with greater deference.   The Libo have an additional holy book, the Omono, dedicated to the study of Vesi. It has commentary on the Parasoza that directly relates to Vesi. Dreams recorded by various Libo followers are also included in the Omono, so it is an ever-expanding text.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of Azatara is the semicircle lacks an additional circle (or sometimes two circles) inside it, so the symbol of Vesi is a solid semicircle.   During healing rituals, su vubopa, Vopan priests, will often draw a plain semicircle on their palms with mud or washable ink to call upon the life energy that their world creates.

Holidays

The Vopa do not have any particular holiday dedicated to Vesi, but the Libo cult regularly hosts small outdoor markets in warm mornings. The various products, including food and decorations, are meant to celebrate the breadth of the gift that Vesi bestowed upon them.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

According to the Parasoza, Vesi is unaware of Azatara's goals to get their teeth back. If there are other goals that Vesi has, they have not been revealed to the Vopa.

Mental characteristics

Accomplishments & Achievements

Despite the terrible bite of Azatara, Vesi remained whole. When the egg hatched, Vesi quickly separated from Azatara, holding onto their teeth. The stolen prize was soon buried deep underground to prevent the growing life of Vesi's world from discovering it.
