Season 2 Episode 4 Report

General Summary

Headed out to the infirmary near the Church of Saint Gervais after Jean de Loungville discovered the symbol of the saint on the dagger he took out Victor Courvoissier   Before leaving the barracks they were stopped by Monsieur De Treville he tells both Léonie Caméléon and Jean that due to the sensitivity of their mission and the possible danger to the King that he was assigning Oscar d'Foix an older Musketeer to the group who could offer his experience and support to the pair.
Arriving at the Infirmary the trio were greeted by a sight of great suffering as the wounded and poor of Paris sought out treatment. Seeing Doctor Bastien Alard hard at work the group were politely told that the Doctor was busy and to come back closer to sundown. While Jean and Leonie waited Oscar did lend a hand to help the wounded and sick managing to save a number of lives.   Approaching the group Alard removes his blood soaked apron to reveal the clean vestments of a priest, along with a rosary and a red fleur de lis with a cross, having finished his shift he spoke with Jean who questioned him relentlessly about the ginger bearded man they had chased from Victor's house. Alard confirmed that he knew the man matching the description and who helped at the infirmary from time to time called Vassily Mitkov. While Alard admitted that he knew Vassily's father that the son remained mostly a mystery. Probing further Jean managed to get the doctor to confirm that Vassily spent a lot of time at the Spanish school and had mentioned once or twice about a job he was going for at the palace.   After thanking the doctor for his time Jean was surprised to learn that Doctor Alard was familiar with him and his exploits and asked him to pass on his regards to Monsieur Du Champ. Tailed by Leonie and Oscar, the musketeers retired to the barracks to await the next day.   Rising with the early morning raced off to the Spanish school to confront the man who had killed his friend and owner of Le Petticoat. Traversing the North bank of the Seine Jean and company arrived at the school proper, a garish mixture of both French and Spanish styles the building is, to put it mildly, tasteless. Entering the main courtyard the party is greeted by El Toro's second in command. He is a reasonably tall, toned man in a well tailored but worn looking jacket, introducing himself as Tomas De Gauvin he is initially not pleased that Jean has charged in to the school asking whether Vassily Mitkov is staying there, a brief but intense argument ensues, with Oscar managing to convince the man to go and get Vassily promising that no harm will come to him and that they just want to ask questions.   Disappearing into the school building the party grows concerned when Tomas does not return. Leonie places her ear towards the locked door she hears a loud discussion between two men they are too indistinct to make out but she hears "Betrayed" and "run". Fearing that Vassily was about to make his escape and with some quick blade work Leonie manages to break open the locked door. Jean and Oscar immediately charge in aiming for the stairs and the sound of voices. While Leonie distracts the students using her feminine wiles.   Jean finds the upper level empty and heads for the box where VIPs would view matches in the arena while telling Oscar to investigate the room behind him. Opening the door of the room Oscar is greeted by the image of Vassily facing Tomas with one hand on his shoulder. In a flurry of motion the bearded man stabs three times into Tomas before jumping through the glass of the window behind him into the courtyard below.   Turning towards Oscar, Tomas stumbles forward his jacket seeping black liquid as his skin turns darker and darker and the veins on his head start to bulge. Dodging out of the way at the last moment as Tomas exploded in an eruption of blood.   Seeing Vasily jump from the window, Jean springs into action, sprinting towards the edge of the box he vaulted onto the sand of the arena below. Meanwhile Leonie could also see the escape and watched as the bearded man rolled to the floor got up and ran towards the students of the school shouting that the Musketeers had killed Tomas and were going for him.
