Mapleborn

Mapleborn is among the smaller cites in the Kingdom of Zentrum.
It is situated in a vast area of lush grasslands and a bit of hilly terrain to the horizon. With the Serene River running through, the town it self has all the makings of a smaller more tranquil town, where everyone knows your name. The city is predominatley halfling in population, so most structures are made to accomodate smallfolk.

    History

The History of the Mapleleaf Clan and the Berryborn clan is a tale as old as time. Originally they were part of a collection of halfling clans that made their dwelling in the Stardew Plains. The two clan heads Sylva Mapleleaf and Bruno "the Elder" Berryborn realized that they were better off uniting the families around them. Thus Mapleborn was born.   This peace would not last. At some point after both founders passed, an incident occurred. The specifics of this incident are not clear to either family, but the result was a feud that has spanned generations, with both families vehemently despising the other. This feud, fortunately, has resulted in nothing more than petty pranks and acts of mischief between the houses with no bloodshed of any kind.   During the Founding Wars around 30 years later, much of the surrounding land was either blockaded or constantly under threat of raiding and looting. Because of this, a third family began to raise in prominence, the Crimey's. Originally a collection of thieves, the Crimey's developed a reputation as smugglers dedicated to the moving of goods through the blockades. This made them very notorious, and very wealthy. This reputation has declined in recent years, with many of the current generation forced back into a life of crime.

    Temple(s)

    Shrine of the Overa:

In the center of town there is a humble wooden building that everyone in town seems to pay reverence to. When you enter the interior it has this sort of familial warmth to it. There see a long table that stretches horizontally with 7 empty seats clearly made for halflings. Each one seems to have a symbol on it with the two heads having the symbols of a cornucopia and a book. An Older gentleman named Vic Merryman can often be seen sweeping the floor and cleaning the table up.

    Mapleborn Temple of the Everflame:

Compared to many of the buildings in this area, there is a stark contrast in the architecture. It still is a wooden and stone interior, but at the center of it is a white flame that doesn't burn those it touches, but permeates the room with this immense warmth. In addition there are stained glass windows endowed with similar iconography to the Shrine of the Overa, but there is also a few others. Overseeing the whole temple is a female Orc named Hearthmother Mursha Sandub.
