Curupira Village
The village is located deep inside Curupira Forest, here the population, mostly made of humans and changeling, lives in harmony with many shapeshifting creatures native to the forest, chiefly the mimics which are used as tools, clothes, weapons, furniture, and sometimes even houses.
The mimics are bred and raised by the locals and trained to assume useful forms, a weaponsmith might train his mimics to assume the form of weapons, a potter forms of vases, and so on.
Mimics are omnivorous, intelligent, dangerous, and selfish creatures so mimic owners take great care of them, feeding them and tending to their every need, to avoid them turning feral.
The village is self-sufficient and has almost no contact with the outside world, theoretically, the region is claimed by the Kingdom of Rammas but in practice the kingdom's laws have no power in the region.
The village is governed by an elected mayor, each citizen age 16 or older has a vote and elections are held every ten years.
The village lives on a self-sustaining economy based on farming and does not participate in sizable commerce with other settlements.
The village has no need for a standing army due to the protection offered by the forest but maintains a small guard, and the mayor acts as the judge for crimes.
Demographics
Most of the inhabitants are humans with a very small minority of half-elves and even fewer are changelings.
This village is the only civilized place that accepts changelings for what they truly are, it is even seen as a sort of blessing by the locals, even though there is no organized or structured religion in the town.
