Salt wood

Salt Wood comes from only one place, and that place is known to the common folk ironically as the Salt Woods this magical forest, known as Málos O Singë by the elves is unique, for it lays at the end of one of the forks of the Gleaming Stream and it is this stream what the researchers say bring this magic to what one would call a swamp if it was not for these Iredenst Pristine White callous trees, who stand tall among this salt marsh.   The harvestable salt wood is only collected from naturally fallen branches. For it is a heinous crime to cut or harm any of these precious trees. But when nature has decided to gift the elves with a fallen branch or two the elves quickly get to work shaping it into mundane objects or even, weapons or armor. Long ago sages mention even ships were known to be made out of this salt wood.   Sages have said every fiber of such wood contains a little magic within, thanks to the Gleaming Stream. Thus the wood workers have found it particularity easy to weave magic into their creations for knowing their creations will last long after conventional wood objects would have perished thanks to the increased hardness and sturdiness of the wood.   Common practice among the ship captains of Portland is to have their shipping barrels fitted with even just a small plank of salt wood. That turns what would have been lost cargo over board to a minor delay while one of their deck hands rope up their now floating barrel.   "A local story" Borick IronHide of the Fires End Mines the neighboring community of dwarves is the only non wood elf permitted to work with salt wood if you care to hear the tale of how it goes a little like this. " Story told by elder wood elf of the salt wood while teaching his student."   11 years ago That scoundrel of a dwarf Borick IronHide watched us from up that hill yonder the boy then had a little spy glass. An boy did he believe he was very clever and well hidden. he was wrong oh he was so very wrong but anyway. Day in an day out he would watch us collect the fallen branches and work the wood until one day after dusk. He made his move he climbed up one of our precious trees to try and retrieve some wood that had not quite fallen into the marsh and broke the whole branch he was climbing on. Panicked the dwarf stole the whole limb of the tree. Running deep into their mines as hid away for many months working the stolen wood until he was done. A mighty crossbow was forged, one any number of own wood working artist would have be proud to call their own. However the dwarf knew that he had stolen the wood the guilt ate at him until he could take no more of it. So he brought his cross bow before us and said it was stolen and would return it to us, that he would like to repay his debt to the forest. So it was 10 years he would walk the wood tending to the trees assisting our gatherers as a good steward. Until one day the keeper of the forest deemed his debt was repaid and returned to him that what he had made. Now that you are almost ready for your trials you shall turn to him to learn what it means to love the wood as we do. "

Interesting idea but punctuation makes it difficult to understand at times. You can break the first paragraph in at least three separate sentences :) And using the quote thingy for stories can bring a bit of variety and make it more easy to notice. Also - why are the woods called "salt woods" ?
