Scourge of the Gods

Scourge of the Gods, also known as The Terror, Blue Hell, and the Stenza Artillery, is a Stenza cocktail invented in Strares. Although this isn't widely held to be true, several inventors of the drink claim it began as a joke that spiraled dangerously out of control. A blend of ěsnè, 'alashaia hot cider, 'alashaia seeds, and a vast array of other ingredients, sometimes finely chopped or ground and all left to fester for up to three weeks, the drink has been described as tasting like "rations", "a severe accident", and "like it's insulting me". However, no one drinks Scourge of the Gods for the taste.

History

Half-joking rumors and legends circulate that Scourge of the Gods originated far back in the Stenza age of myths, but in fact it is related to a number of other, similarly dangerous cocktails and spirits, such as "Mutually Assured Destruction", "Skull Crusher", "Winter Killer", "Capital Gloom", and dozens of others. Scourge of the Gods is merely one of many representatives of a shockingly long Stenza tradition of crafting riskier and riskier drinks both as tests of courage and as science experiments meant explicitly for consumption. (Sometimes "Ěsnè Enigma" is included in this category, chiefly because the drinker gets progressively more intoxicated as they try to decipher just what the hell it's meant to taste like.)
