Aliester Gilrieth
Vampire, spellcaster, and swordsman. Aliester was the eldest living son of House Gilrieth, a small, half-elven kingdom in central Faerun, which was destroyed when the appearance of the corpse of Moander destroyed the valley that the kingdom occupied.
Aliester and his younger brother, Elyon Gilrieth, were away from the kingdom at the time of its destruction. The two were venturing outside of the kingdom in search of adventure and in hopes of making a name for themselves before they would be required to settle down and lead.
After encountering a nest of vampire spawn on their adventure, the two brothers became afflicted by vampirism. The brothers entered a vampiric bloodlust and while Aliester was able to pull himself out of it naturally, Elyon became feral and went missing. Aliester spent the next several decades attempting to find his brother and free him from the bloodlust.
After recovering his brother and nursing him back to civility, Aliester and Elyon moved to the kingdom of Olak Vald in Easter Faerun and began assuming roles of leadership within the capital city.
