Melee Weapons

----------------SWORDS-----------------   Shortsword - a short variety of one-handed swords.   Arming Sword - an average length variety of one-handed, double-edged sword.   Shotel - an extremely curved metal sword, resembling a sickle, but made to kill.   Executioner's Sword - a heavy, two-handed sword with a flat tip, designed to decapitate.   Konda Sword - a sword with an arched tip, tapering to spikes on each side.    Hunting Sword - a single-edged arming sword, often with a gut hook and/or serrations on the back.   Broadsword - a thicker, heavier one-handed sword.   Bastard Sword - a lengthier variety of double-edged sword with a slightly longer handle, meant to be wielded comfortably in one hand or two.   Longsword - a variety of long, nimble double-edged swords, meant to be wielded with two hands.   Warsword - a longer, heftier variety of longsword.   Montante - a long, narrow, nimble two-handed greatsword.   Claymore - a wider, thicker, heavier, wicked, and beautiful greatsword.   Flamberge - a powerful greatsword with a wavy blade meant to cause extreme bleeding.   Falchion - a curved, front weighted, single-edged arming sword, meant to deliver devastating, hewing cuts to flesh, bone, and lighter armors.   Katana - a somewhat short, curved, single-edged two-handed sword with a slight curve along the whole blade.   Wakizashi - a shorter, one-handed version of a katana.   Odachi - a massive, two-handed katana-like sword, meant for use on horseback.   Kris - a strong, wavy arming sword, made to cause grievous, jagged wounds.   Kriegsmesser - a long, curved, single-edged two-handed sword, with a distal taper, allowing the blade to be quick and nimble in the hand, with devastating power.   ------------Polearms-----------------   Spear - a long wooden shaft with a pointy metal head.   Winged Spear - a thick, sturdy shaft with a wider head and a metal guard below it to prevent overpenetration.   Pike - an extremely long spear, meant to ward off cavalry charges.   Partisan - a strong spear with a double-edged head and protrusions to prevent overpenetration and aid in parrying.   Mancatcher - a spiked metal ring at the end of a long stick, meant to be wrapped around the neck of a creature and snap in place, holding spikes to the throat and immobilizing the target.   Halberd - a heavy blade and long spike on the end of a long shaft, a devastatingly effective weapon.   Billhook - a heavy blade and hook at the end of a pole, useful for controlling foes at a distance.   Glaive - two heavy, single-edged blades at opposite ends of a pole, allowing for powerful sweeping attacks in rapid succession.   War Scythe - a long, curved blade at the end of a pole, based on and resembling a traditional scythe, but specially developed for battle.   Quarterstaff - a long, durable wooden staff, can have attachments on each end.   Swordstaff - an arming sword blade at the end of a pole, pretty self-explanatory.   Javelin - a short, lightweight spear, easily maneuverable in the hand and made to throw.   Pilum - a lightweight spear with an extremely long metal spike, meant to be thrown.   ------------Axes-------------   Axes have various types of heads that can be swapped in and out.   Handaxe - a short wooden haft with a small hatchet or light bearded head.   Waraxe - a heavy, curved haft with a heavier head, able to be wielded with one hand, but with exceptional power when wielded with both.   Poleaxe - a light axe head with a long spike above and hammer head behind, attached to the end of a long, reinforced wooden handle.   Dane Axe - a strong, bearded axe head at the end of a long wooden haft, allowing for exceptional speed and power.   Double-bitted Axe - a strong haft with two heads in front and back.   Woodsman's Axe - a heavy, sharpened, metal wedge at the end of a sturdy haft, made for chopping down trees, but adept at chopping through bodies.   ----------Maces & Hammers------------   Morningstar - a heavy, spiked metal ball at the end of a wooden or metal handle.   Goedendag - a heavy wooden club, generally three to five feet in length, with a metal endcap and protruding metal spike.   Maul - a thick wooden mallet head, often banded with metal, at the end of a long wooden haft, delivers extreme impact with every swing.   Flanged Mace - a heavy wooden or metal handle, with a head of several dull blades, meant to crush bone and armor and tear skin and flesh.   Warhammer - a small metal hammer head at the and of a wooden haft, with a long spike protruding from the back of the hammer head.   Hammer - a typical tool, heavy metal head at the end of a short wooden handle, a common tool, but a lethal weapon.   Flail - a metal object at the end of a chain, attached to a handle. Can cause devastating damage, but can also easily cause damage to the wielder in unskilled hands.   Nunchaku - an odd weapon like a small flail, two wooden or metal handles connected by a chain. Impressive to watch in the hands of an expert, but lacks reach and power in underskilled hands.   Club - a wooden club, simple and effective.   -----------Daggers------------   Rondel - a long, sharp metal spike with a wooden handle, extremely lethal and easily punctures clothing, linen, and chain armor.   Bollock Dagger - a long sharp dagger with a round wooden handle with two spherical orbs for the guard, heavily resembling male genitalia, the absolute manliest of daggers.   Cinquedea - a very wide dagger that rapidly tapers to the tip, a very ornate and deadly weapon.   Dirk - a long, straight dagger with simple elegance, equally effective for slashing and stabbing.   Baselard - a very long, tapered, double-edged dagger, almost a sword and extremely deadly.   Anelace - a broad, double-edged, elegant dagger worn by gentlemen, similar to a cinquedea.   Misericorde - a fancier, noble version of a rondel, carried by noblemen, meant to quickly, painlessly, and mercifully dispatch mortally wounded, honorable foes.
