Character Creation and Advancement

To create a character, follow the same rules as 5e with these exceptions:

Customised Origins

If you wish to change your character's racial ability score modifiers or other feats, use the rules as described in TCE, and ask the DM for approval of any changes made.   These changes should be reflected by your character's background story in some way, explain why your little Kobold should have a bonus to strength when others of their kind aren't generally known for their physical prowess.

Point Buy

You have 30 points available to use the Point Buy system, standard cost as per RAW.

Languages

Your starting languages are the language from your home country, any racial language your race speaks, as well as the main language from the region you begin playing in (DM's choice).
Example: You want to play a Kenku from Qeiri, and your game begins playing in Coanna, you will know these languages: Qeiri, Kenku, Coann.
Certain backgrounds/professions might give you additional starting languages as well, and you will learn new languages at higher levels.

Skill Proficiencies

You gain proficiency in any number of skills as your race, class and background give you, plus a number of additional proficiencies equal to your Intelligence Modifier.

Feats

You gain one feat of your choosing, if this feat would normally give you an ability score increase, you do not gain this increase. You get more feats at higher levels.

At Higher Levels

Ability Scores

At levels 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 you increase either two ability scores by +1, or one ability score by +2.

Feats

At levels 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 you may choose an additional feat from any official list, or suggest your own or a 3rd party feat to be added to the list of acceptable feats. If the feat would normally give you an increase to an ability score, you do not gain an increase to it.

Languages

At levels 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 you gain proficiency in a new Language of your choice, with the exception of secret or restricted languages.
