Eramek Vire
High Mourner Eramek Vire
Warden of the Silent Gate
Leader of the Cult of Morr
Neutral NPC | Non-combatant Support Figure | Sacred Anchor
Backstory
Eramek Vire was once a noble-born theologian in Altdorf, celebrated for his insight into posthumous rites and dream-seer trances. Yet behind his scholarly renown was a man haunted by silence—his own son, a devout priest of Morr, fell in Mordheim on the first day of the comet’s descent. When the news reached Eramek, he vanished from the capital, leaving behind his titles, his books, and his name.
He was next seen years later in Mordheim—aged, emaciated, and cloaked in black—walking barefoot through the haunted cemeteries as if listening to the dead. There, he claimed to have received a dream-command from Morr himself: not to flee the city, but to remain. To become its keeper of silence, the last wall between the living and the truly dead.
Now known as High Mourner, Eramek leads the Cult of Morr from the House of Eternal Silence, ensuring that the veil remains unbroken. Under his guidance, the cult does not seek war—but they will bind, banish, or bury anything that tries to claw its way out of death.

Special Rules
Master of the Veil
Eramek cannot be hired, engaged, or attacked under normal circumstances. He is a neutral sacred figure whose role is to maintain the barrier between life and death.
Any Undead model that comes within 6” of Eramek must immediately take a Leadership test. If failed, they lose their next activation in silent paralysis.
Rite of Veiled Absolution (once per battle)
Instead of moving, Eramek may spend an activation performing a ritual on a Repentant or tormented creature within 8". Roll a D6:
- 1-2: The creature turns violently, ignoring Eramek for 1 turn.
- 3-4: The creature becomes Staggered, acting last in the turn and unable to run or charge.
- 5-6: The creature is enchanted by Morr’s presence—it cannot attack or be attacked until it is next wounded or cast upon. It moves in a random direction each turn, eyes glazed, as if sleepwalking.
Undead models automatically fail any spell targeting the enchanted creature for the next D3 turns.
Book of Thorns
This cursed grimoire contains the names of the forgotten dead. Once per game, Eramek may open the book and speak a single name aloud. All Undead and Possessed models within 6” take a Strength 3 hit as if struck by spectral vines, and must re-roll successful Leadership tests for the rest of the round.
Robes of Silence
While within the Temple of Morr or its cemetery grounds, Eramek cannot be seen or targeted by ranged attacks, spells, or abilities unless the attacker passes a Leadership test on 3D6. He is considered a spiritual anchor rather than a man.
Aura of Finality
All Psychology tests taken within 8” of Eramek are at -1 Leadership for Undead, Possessed, Skaven, or Chaos models. However, all Human or Good-aligned models within the same radius gain +1 Leadership instead, as if reminded of the certainty of death.
Narrative Use in Campaigns
- Can bless gravesites, removing the chance of undead resurrection in certain scenarios.
- May grant temporary sanctuary to a warband that performs a rite of mourning (offering a slain hero’s name in exchange for a boon).
- If insulted, disrespected, or interrupted in ritual, Eramek may become hostile in silence, sending nightmares, visions, or even a dormant Repentant to follow the offending warband for D3 games.
