Taslima Iudi
The Walking Trenchcoat Doctor
"Need anything, love?"A walking trench coat. The coat itself is a plant-like green, the green of coconut leaves after a long day of rainfall. There is a pin with a name label on it, reading "Taslima Iudi - She/Her" and that's people call her. The coat does have a pair of hiking boots where feet would be, though no visible leg can be seen. Most people guess she is just invisible, permanently, and don't question it. Those who try often find their mouth zipped up, with an actual zip, without a handle they can use to unzip. People find this quite unpleasant and glad to learn it's only for that one day, and learn never to try again. Also, they are more interested in the basket she carries. Every morning, sharp at 8 AM, she appears (the trenchcoat and boots just appear out of thin air, as if she is letting go of one layer of the invisibility spell covering her) at the cavern village of Drainwood, one of the underground villages that cropped up in the antipodal cavern of Drain. She walks through the village, and an unseen mouth speaks to each village, asking after their health and offering various remedies to ease their pains and illnesses, never staying for small talk. Many villagers, try often to ask her questions in turn but are met with silence and gestures at the basket, and Taslima goes her merry way. Other than the remedies she offers, she does often pick one child every day to give a special gift for, usually a random toy tho she does have a preference for snowmobiles (neither Drain nor its underground villages have ever seen snow as far as they remember) and it always brings a smile to the child's face. While she starts at Drainwood everyday, she moves on soon after to the next village, one second in Drainwood and the next in Sinkhole, another village, where she repeats her actions of providing remedies to its people. Her remedies range from herbal to modern, from herb ointments for colds to HRT pills to beta blockers. She goes from village to village, even visiting the hermits that live in solitary cabins outside village bounds, and always finds a way to wrap up before 8 PM at the same day, even as the number of villages increased. Some have reported seeing her in multiple villages at once, and no one is sure just how many of her are there. Based on the size of the trenchcoat and boots, she appears to be around 7 feet tall, with a sharp and clear voice asking about your needs. She first appeared a few years after Drainwood was established, and has served as the local herbalist and doctor for all the villages. Nobody knows where she came from or how she got to be there, except her invisible cat Oranje who lives her in a hut that no one ever found, a cat who no one except Taslima has ever met.
