My Dark Midnight

My Dark Midnight (a.k.a. мое темная полночь)

My Dark Midnight is a haunting figure, a frail, elderly man whose appearance belies the menacing presence he commands. His stooped and gaunt frame is barely visible beneath the imposing black plate armor he wears, making him appear far larger and more formidable than he truly is. The armor is intricately wrought with jagged edges and sharp ridges, its surface etched with faint runes that seem to flicker like dying embers in the dark. It creaks and groans with every movement, as though weighed down by the burden of countless secrets and regrets.   His pale, parchment-like skin is mottled with liver spots, his scalp bald and gleaming under the moonlight. A patchy white beard clings stubbornly to his sharp, angular chin, and his sunken eyes gleam like dim coals beneath heavy, furrowed brows. Despite his frailty, his gaze is piercing and unnervingly steady, carrying a cold, calculating weight that makes others hesitate under its scrutiny.   His voice is low and rasping, like the rustling of dead leaves, each word carefully chosen and delivered with a sharp, biting precision. My Dark Midnight is a master of observation, quick to pick apart others' actions, intentions, and even their weaknesses. He is the most obstinate of Baba Yaga's heralds, unyielding in his judgment and scornful of those he deems foolish or unworthy. His demeanor is that of a harsh, unrelenting taskmaster, stripping away illusions and pretenses to expose raw truth, no matter how uncomfortable or painful.   He rides a massive black steed with a mane and tail of that appear almost as shadowy wisps. The horse's hooves strike the ground in silence, leaving behind no tracks—only an unsettling stillness. Together, they are a terrifying vision in the darkness, embodying the inevitability of nightfall and the creeping weight of despair.   Though frail in body, My Dark Midnight's aura of authority is unshakable. He is the embodiment of the night, the end of cycles, and the cold inevitability of change. His arrival marks the final chapter in Baba Yaga’s return, the closing of the day and the descent into the shadowy unknown. Those who encounter him feel the weight of time itself, the inescapable truth that all things must end. Yet within that truth lies a harsh, enduring wisdom, if one is brave enough to embrace it.   He was encountered by the party as they traveled through the Heathmoors in Llywelyn and made camp. He appeared after dusk. Myohn approached him and My Dark Midnight rebuffed the offer of mushrooms that Myohn made before he rode off.   He is suspected to be one of the horseman figures that Tertius received from Boora Coven and buried at midnight.
