Groundsgrunn Mountains

The Groundsgrunn Mountains dominate the western and northern portions of the Isle of Hrafnel, towering above the landscape and forming a natural barrier against the icy winds that sweep in from the frozen northern seas. These mountains are known for their rugged, unforgiving terrain and are often battered by fierce storms, making them one of the most inhospitable regions in the Moontide Isles.   The peaks of the Groundsgrunn Mountains are capped with snow year-round, and the valleys are often shrouded in mist or fog. Strong, frozen winds howl through the narrow passes, and the temperatures can plummet to dangerous lows, especially in the northern stretches of the range. Despite these harsh conditions, the mountains are rich in resources, with veins of precious metals and stone running deep beneath the surface.   In the southern part of the range lies the dwarven city of Kigdarigm, the heart of dwarven civilization on Hrafnel. The dwarves have long called the Groundsgrunn Mountains home, carving their citadels into the stone and mining the wealth hidden within. Kigdarigm is both a fortress and a hub of commerce, and the dwarves have established strongholds throughout the southern reaches of the mountains to guard their territory and resources.   The mountains are also home to dangerous creatures, from roaming frost giants to packs of wild mountain trolls, all of which pose a constant threat to those who dare to traverse the untamed wilderness. The dwarves, ever vigilant, patrol the lower slopes and entrances to their strongholds to keep these threats at bay.   For the people of Hrafnel, the Groundsgrunn Mountains are a symbol of resilience and strength. They serve as both a natural defense and a source of wealth, with the dwarves of Kigdarigm playing a central role in the kingdom's economy. The mountains' rugged beauty and perilous peaks also inspire awe and respect, reminding those who live in their shadow of the harsh yet powerful forces that shape the land.
