Hyrulean

Writing System

The Hyrulean language uses a system somewhere between a consonant alphabet and a syllabary. There are individual symbols for consonants, and in most scenarios, vowel sounds are noted with diacritic symbols. These diacritic symbols can be isolated, for instance, if a words starts with a vowel sound, but generally exist in conjunction with a consonant.

Geographical Distribution

Hyrulean is the most commonly spoken language in Hyrule. All the species and races local to Hyrule are known to speak it (Zora, Goron, Rito, Hylian, Sheikah), and most immigrants learn it.
