Ancient Hyrulean

Writing System

Older texts use an archaic script that evolved into the modern Hyrulean writing system, and this is typically taught alongside the language. This script is commonly used among the Sheikah in the modern age, while most contemporary hymns and sermons that haven't been outright translated will rewrite the ancient language into the modern script to make it more accessible.

Geographical Distribution

Ancient Hyrulean is not commonly spoken. It is used in religious hymns and is sometimes studied in schools. Most Sheikah speak it fluently, and the Royal Family traditionally learns it.
