Amanda Proudbody
Amanda Meriel Proudbody, and her brother Illian Conall Proudbody were raised in a reclusive village situated within the Delimbiyr Vale of Northwest Faerûn. As halflings dwelling within a town of humans, much gossip centered around the siblings and the identity of their deceased elvish mother.
Amanda’s father, Mr. Proudbody, was a hardy rancher, well-attuned to caring for his herds even in the toughest of conditions. His children started aiding him in his trade when they were still very young. Every three months, Illian and his father would cart the products of their profession to sell in the nearby city of Waterdeep, while Amanda stayed home and tended to the herds. When she was a young adult, her life was permanently changed when her father was lost during a blizzard on the return from Waterdeep's wintertime sale, and her brother came stumbling home half-dead.
The two orphaned siblings were then left without much provisions or money, stuck in the beginnings of a brutal winter. The next months were full of difficult weather, meager supplies and dying livestock. Come springtime, Amanda and Illian had lost the bulk of their herds and were on the brink of starvation. Without their father and their livestock, there was really nothing left to tie them to the Delimbiyr Vale.
Illian discovered that his good friend Seamus Knotleigh and his family had suffered similar damage over the winter, and that the Knotleighs were planning to uplift their roots and migrate to the growing settlement of Mythrite to find better work. He got permission from Seamus’s family to join their escapade and proposed the idea to Amanda, who agreed without much coaxing. The two siblings sold what little they had left, and when summertime reached the Savage Frontier, they accompanied the Knotleighs in the travel towards a new home and a more hopeful future.
Amanda and Illian Proudbody currently reside in The Halberd, sharing a cramped low house with the Knotleigh family. The halflings are young adults and have stayed in Mythrite now for the equivalent of six human years. They are of a Poor class, with Amanda working the experienced profession of a livestock farmer.
Amanda is a steady, decent person with a free spirit and nurturing heart. She is hard-working and reliable, and has an influencing level of energy. Strong-willed, with a very fixed mindset, she is always speaking up for what is right and stands firm in her beliefs no matter what others think. Since she’s so outgoing, it makes sense that she’s taken a stand within her poor social circle to raise their status.
