Barovian Militia
The Von Zarovich Royal Army was the human army of King Barov. After his death, the command of it was transferred to Count Strahd Von Zarovich. They were honourably discharged from service shortly after Strahd became a vampire. Most them were killed during the Red Wedding those that remained went into service of the Wachter family in Valaki.
When Barovia was threatened by Azalin Strahd formed a Militia to defend it. after the war he formalized it and established standing garisons.
Barovia's Militia consists of Primarily of Infantry in the form of Pikemen, Longbow Archers and light Calavery. Its primary purpose is to respond to any hostile incursions into Barovia from other domains. Lord Strahd Von Zarovich has estabished several garisons in the south west of Barovia and one in the south east which also houses the Von Zarovich Military academy. the Academy trains the young men of the noble houses of Barovia in the art of war, should the need arrise again they would form the officer corp of the Barovian Military.
