The Kenku Raid

In the midst of a stormy night, a Kenku raiding group descends upon Bastion. After luring out much of the cities militia staging diversionary attacks on outlying farms and ranches, the raiders descend upon the city itself. The attack was devastating and only the timely arrival of relief from the city of Palisade prevented the eventual collapse of the city. This act of kindness from a state Bastion had traditionally considered a rival, forever changed the nature of the relationship between the two cities.
