Elmiras
Elmiras is a prominent character the Tales of Mirydain literary series. He is an Elf from Trädvellir who accompanies David McKay and Ginny Langford on their quest to defeat the Dark King and restore peace to the land of Mirydain. He currently serves as the Herald of David and Ginny's court at Dinas Caradorn.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Elmiras is an Elf, whose race is known for possessing astonishing beauty. Like all of his kin, Elmiras has very bright skin, long hair to his shoulders, and points on his ears. Elmiras' distinctive feature include pale blue eyes that glisten like stars, a small nose, and incredibly white teeth. He is tall and well-built, making him quite agile and swift on his feet.
Special abilities
Like all Elves, Elmiras has a degree of strength and keen senses. He can see for at least twelve miles and hear a fly stretching its wings ten leagues away.
Apparel & Accessories
Elmiras wears tunics and pants that are colored to blend with foliage. This is a common style of dress among Elves as they do their best not to give themselves away unless it is necessary.

Accomplishments & Achievements
Elmiras became a companion to David McKay and Ginny Langford on their initial journey to Mirydain. He helped them across the land and fought beside them at the Battle of Kailion Vale. At their coronation at Dinas Caradorn, Elmiras was proclaimed Herald of the Court.
Intellectual Characteristics
Elmiras is very intelligent, shown by him acting as a guide for David and Ginny on the first part of their journey. He demonstrates skill in battle with a bow, a sword, and even a branch as a weapon and also has minor skill in healing.
Morality & Philosophy
Elmiras has a very strong moral code, evidenced by his honesty, courage, and love for freedom and peace. He displays an unflinching trust in the words of the prophecy concerning the Dark King's downfall and firmly believes David and Ginny to be the children mentioned in it. He is willing to stand for his friends and for his fiancee Lilönwy and is the first to defend a cause as long as it is just.

He has deep love for his partner Lilönwy, which is why he fears for her life when she states that she is willing to fight for the freedom of Mirydain. Despite his initial protests, Elmiras does not admonish her when Lilönwy fights the Hand of Malgrond and defeats him despite being injured in the process.

Elmiras is a firm believer in Jeger Almáttugur and like all of his race, honors the High King-Above-the-Heavens as the father of all life in the World. Because of his faith, Elmiras is willing to believe that the prophecy foretelling the Dark King's defeat is true and pledges his loyalty to David and Ginny as a friend and ally.
