Raven, the Trickster

A Trickster spirit venerated by the Coyote-People of the Badlands, it is Raven who helped the Coyotes deal with their ancestral lycanthropy curse. Any 'help' that Raven gives comes at a price. Raven does not help for free, but despite being a Trickster he is still bound by the natural laws that govern interactions with spirits. When one makes a deal with Raven he cannot break it. He is, however, free to interpret the agreement as he sees fit, and tends to stick to the letter of the agreement more than the intention. Great caution is advised when dealing with him.   Raven enjoys shiny things, as normal terrestrial Ravens do, but will often ask for favors. He once asked Sam Fatts' Crew to kill a man for him. When they asked "Who?", Raven replied that he didn't particularly care. This implies that blood sacrifices are also a manner in which one can appease him. Skark gave him a magical rapier instead, which was also acceptable.   As a spirit himself he technically resides in the Afterrealm, between Tartarus and the river Cocytus. Cieth visited him in order to get him to teach Jack a lesson in humility by turning him into a bird person until he learned to respect bird people, but Raven accomplished this by turning Jack into a Wereraven and since 'the humanness had to go somewhere', Cieth was turned into a hybrid of an Owlfolk and a Human until the same conditions are met. Raven asked Cieth to give Tiki a gift as well for this, but T'lula'taku, Our Lady of Despair intervened on behalf of her niece and gave Cieth a magic sequin that would counteract that and also act as a sending stone allowing her to stay in touch with Tiki. Due to the magic not working on Tiki, she gave the Raven's gift to Skark, but as Skark was already a bird, instead he gained a portion of Wereraven Power.
