Dragon

Dragons live at least tens of thousands of years, and it's possible that they can't die of old age. They are also often incredibly intelligent. As such, they often attract followers, and are occasionally worshipped as gods. The relatively low population, despite their age, is attributed to slow breeding and high infant mortality. Given their intelligence, they are not really in danger of going extinct - any such threats would be dealt with.
Due to their longevity, older dragons often develop a perception of time commonly called Slow-Time.
