Session 87 - April 29, 2021 Report
General Summary
1305 - 1st Moon of Summer (Fisen) 22nd Day
- The party has breakfast with the court wizard, Arannis, in his tower and discusses what the party found (Black Dragon, the size of a war elephant). What he has, a +2 bow and a potions of acid resistance. The wizard asks to get a small pebble from the area around the dragon, for a spell use later on.
- Alethra bring out a list of options and ideas, and the party and the wizard start to brainstorm what is possible.
- Arannis agrees to send over the potions, a +2 bow (to borrow), 3 potions of alchemist fire, and a druid from the university to help create more poisonous moss. He will look into a teleport scroll, and the access to the university circle for Ari.
- Roth is contacted by Olly, who reports another batch of Kobold, so now the number in the small area of the swamp is 28-30. Roth lets the wizard and the party know this.
- Arannis sends a message to Marisha, who will open the portal in a tree on the 25th at 9 am. He wishes them good luck, and will send over all the items in a day or two.
- Group heads over to Korfel to work on arrows and get some items and purchase some items.
- Ari buys chalk and prepares to head to her bard college to pick up the item from her mother's temple in the the city where she went to college, Melathas. They ask Korfel about the ring of spell storing, and he has a 2nd level one that he is mostly done with he can give to the party in a day or two. He does not have a Wand of Fireballs. The party will buy all the health potions left (6) when they pick up the ring.
- During the afternoon, Olly sees the dragon leave and fly away. Olly sneaks in and gets a pebble from the area and 3 platinum from the hoard. Olly found a small jade tea set, which she left a small blue egg in.
- Roth gives Ari the ring of spell storing that he has, which she will get the spell of fireball cast into it.
- The bards head off to the city of Melathas. Ari uses her knock lockpick, which picks the lock and alerts the guards, who all stormed the room. Only a very high roll saved the two of them from being shot many times. Ari meets up with her dance instructor and has tea. He recommends 5 g per person per hour for dance lessons. The two then heads to the temple to get the item her mother left for her, a bracelet of Death Ward with an odd note.
- Ari and Merry go to the Guilded Goat, a magic shop run by a female elf with some scales, suggesting a sea elf heritage. They buy healing potions, alchemist fire, and are quoted 24,000 gold for a scroll of teleportation.
- After making the purchases, they go back to the bard college looking for a musical weapon, a pan pipe that will do psychic damage. They do not find any pan pipes, but do enjoy the life in that town.
- Ari then uses the second set of chalk she purchased that day to get to Gregory's tower. Ari and Merry enjoy an evening with Gregory, chatting about projects and ideas about this dragon fight. Gregory is able to cast fireball into the ring, and he is pleased to see Roth is still using the item they crafted together.
- Roth finishes the arrows and sends Alethra home. Roth then goes to see Magmabrew and places his order from the mini mansion, gives her 10,000 gold. He will be back to help with the creation as soon as he gets back from a small mission.
- Roth goes to see Vidalia and buys into two businesses in town, he puts in 2000 gold or 1/3 in a brewery which he will be a known investor in. He also puts 3000 in a brothel/spa and he will not a silent investor, getting a cut and any interesting rumors.
- Ari and Merry arrive back at the house, as Gregory sent them back with teleport, and the party divides up the healing potions they purchases, and review a game plan.
- Druid arrives at the house and with Alethrea creates more moss (now 20 oz).
- Roth sends the items he got from Olly to the court wizard with a note on what they are. Roth gets back the ring of spell storing with fireball cast in it.
- Ari gets a note from Magmabrew about the magic circle access, stating that her access only took 4 weeks, but it might be different from non-university members.
- The party rests most of the day, then heads to the Gold Room for dinner with Veronika. Ari is very dressed up (including very fancy buttons), and Alethra puts on her nice dwarven city dress. Merry and Roth are low key, and everyone enjoys an amazing dinner together. Roth puts in a good word about a new brewery in town, and Ari charms the owners, feeling confident she can request a table now and then.
- All the items arrive from the court wizard, (potions, teleport scroll, +2 longbow and 3 alchemists fire)
- Alethra then prepares some arrows with cloth to be able to light them on fire to shoot at the dragon. Then she worked to try and prepare ways to package the moss to make it possible to shoot on an arrow.
- Roth and Alethra head to the Wandering Waves to meet Fenna and get Alethra her tattoo. They pick up the ring of spell storing and 6 health potions on the way. After an introduction Roth heads back to the house and Alethra gets her tattoo.
- Roth goes back to the house and gets Merry to cast 2 healing word spells at 1st level into the ring of spell storing.
- Alethra and Fenna have a chat about the tattoos, and there is a line from the base of Alethra's neck down both shoulders to her wrists of small traces of blue flame and blue arcane ruins. They are small and delicate and work around the tattoos that Alethra already has. She is very pleased, but does pass out from the pain.
- Alethra paid 2,500 gold and is now proficient in arcana.
- Potions of healing are divided out into bags. Any non-essential items are left at the house, and Judith is informed the party will be away for a few days.
- Olly is given potions of healing (2) so she can flying fairy dragon medic.
- The group goes to see Marisha, who is pleased to open a door in a tree with Transport via Plants.
- With a good survival check from Roth with Olly's help they mostly stealthily made it 3/4 of the way to where the Kobolds were getting stone.
- The party is very sneaky, with all over 20 stealth. They arrive around 3 pm in a place that Roth believes is very close to the area the Kobolds were collecting stones.
