Session 71 - Sept 24, 2020 Report
General Summary
1305 - 3rd Moon of Spring (Fisro) 17th Day
- The party continue along after the encounter with the young rock elementals.
- The later afternoon, heavy clouds/fog descend on the party. Ari hears whistling noises and notifies the party there by the creatures in the fog cloud. Visibility is now halved.
- Roth listens and is able to pin point where 3 of the creatures are, and that is possibly a 4th, he shares this with Ari and the rest of the party.
- Ari greets the creatures in Auran, Althera speaks Primoridal, but does not recognize this dialect. Roth describes the situation to Magmabrew while Ari makes polite conversation.
- Roth gets his Helm of Comprehend Language and listens to the conversation, once the Air Elementals mention looking for a way home, Roth suggest a trade, give the Air Elementals the location of the gate to the Feywilde, and in return they would guide us through the fog.
- Ari then mentions this to the Air Elementals, but has another thought, asking Magmabrew if she is able to plane shift the Air Elementals back to their home plane. Magmabrew mentions she can cast Banishment, but it would have to be at the end of the day when the mansion was cast.
- The Air Elementals then swirled to create a path through the fog for a little over an hour, taking the party to the site where the mini-mansion was cast. She then casts the mini-mansion, and looks through books to find the spell she is looking for.
- Ari translates to the Air Elementals about the spell to be cast and how it works, and how to not resist. The first casting was on all 4, 2 did not resist, 1 attempted to resist and failed, 1 attempted to resist and succeeded. Magmabrew is then able to cast the spell at a lower level, and the last Air Elemental is banished to the Plane of Air.
- After all the excitement and banishment, Alethra goes to look for some Herbs to replenish her herbalism kit, but does not find anything useful.
- The party goes into the Mini-mansion for dinner, and Ari mentions how weird it was that they saw two different kinds of elementals in the same day, air and earth. Magmabrew discusses how some advanced magics can be used to move between planes, or summon creatures from other planes. Li and Alethra have encountered elementals before, but Roth and Scarlett have seen Earth Elementals in the mines on Brell, and Roth, Ari, and Scarlett fought Air Elementals in the dessert outside the pyramid.
- Ari and Magmabrew discuss why she is going to Blazenthrone, how she is attending a meeting to set the next 4 cycles of clan leadership, 40 years, so all 28 clans are on the ruling council. Magmabrew is unsure she can allow Ari to perform for her clan, but mentions she can perform in the taverns in the visitor cavern, if the tavern allows it. Also, Ari would like to speak the clan archivist, and Magmabrew can arrange for a meeting, but there would a consultation fee.
- Magmabrew then describes the guest cavern where the party would be confined during their stay. There are several taverns, shops, places to sleep, and restaurants. The guest can also request special merchants to visit to purchase items.
- Roth then sends a message to Korfel requesting a magical item to make him tougher, and finds that Korfel has already acquired a sending stone for him.
- Calm day, nothing interesting happens. Ari asks Magmabrew about planar travel and what could the presence of elementals could mean.
- The weather is nice with blue skies, and the party continues to travel.
- Magmabrew thinks they are about 4-5 days out from the entrance to the city.
- In the late afternoon, the party feels the ground start to shift and shake.
- From a hole that was dug up, a large created somewhat weasel/armadillo emerges, jumping to land on Li, Alethra, and Magmabrew. Everyone takes damage, with Alethra falling prone, and then the party begins to attack the Bullette.
- After 1 round, 6 basilisks jump out of the newly created hole. Roth recognizes them, telling the party not to look, as these creatures can turn people to stone.
- Olly casts darkness on a dagger, allowing Roth to get close and attack the creatures without fear of petrifaction. Althrea backs off the Bullette, which bites Li and then flees. Ari uses thunderwave, then files with her boots. Scarlet rages, then attacks. Magmabrew firebolts a basilisk. After a few rounds, Li goes down, and Olly flies over to cast a Cure Wounds on him via a nose bomp. Li then goes down again the next turn, not sure if he saw a little dragon or not.
- After 1 basilisk is killed, the 5 left, 2 of which are heavily wounded, attempt to flee back down the hole. The two heavily wounded are killed with opportunity attacks, and the other 3 flee.
- Scarlett cast a prayer of healing, topping up hit points while Roth and Alethra drain the blood for the 3 basilisks, and then later cut off the heads. They have 3 full 24 oz jars of blood.
- The party journeys for a few more hours, and when the mini-mansion is cast, Roth and Magmabrew harvested the eyes, getting all 6 out in tact.
- Calm day, nothing interesting happens
- As dawn breaks and the party starts out for the day, they hear a long 3 min echoing howl, coming out of the dim light around them. Roth with a 28 determines the noise came from behind them and since is it not a direction they are traveling, they will ignore it.
- In the mid-morning as Roth scouts ahead, he sees an odd cave. The party backs off and hides. Ari, who summonded 3 creatures, a giant goat, a mastiff and a lion, send her lion in to investigate the cave. The lion roars when it is attacked, but does not return. Ari determines the lion was at 60-70 feet into the cave.
- The party detours around the cave, and marks the location to return and investigate. Roth sends in invisible Olly to scout, who fly through the cave for quite awhile and only sees rocks.
