Session 68 - August 20, 2020 Report

General Summary

1305 - 2nd Moon of Spring (Korvin) 28th Day

• Magmabrew casts detect magic and makes some notes on the bridges, as it descends back into the water.
• The party rests in the mini mansion overnight.
• Ari talks to Magmabrew about travel and access to teleportation circles, and how to Magmabrew previously got to the dwarven city. She was escorted.
• Ari, Scarlett and Roth are level 9.

1305 - 2nd Moon of Spring - 3rd Moon of Spring

• Overland through forest, up to edge of tree line and beyond tree line onto the edge of the caldera.

1305 - 3rd Moon of Spring (Dular) 6th Day

• The party approaches a gully which seems to be the path of run off water which has made a steep path up the 60 ft cliff face.
• Li gets a bad feeling upon viewing the terrain, as it seems the ideal place to set up an ambush.
• The marching order was Roth, Li, Alethra, Magmabrew, Scarlett and Ari.
• As the party enters the gully and hears a song, with Li and Olly the little dragon being charmed by the harpy's voice.
• The rest of the party is unaware of the charm effect, and Li runs forward, and Olly flies up to be next to the harpy, both fail the second save.
• A large harpy in shining chain mail appears at the top of the gully and cries out, causing damage to only 1 party member.
• Combat then begins, with the lead Harpy taking a lot damage, then 8 regular harpies shooting longbows over the edge of the ravine at the party.
• Ari, Magmabrew and Scarlett are able to cast spells on the lead harpy, with Roth dealing the final blow as she tried to flee.
• The rest of the party killed 3 regular harpies, as the rest tried to retreat, as Roth and Li took long bow shots, then Ari gave Li and piggyback ride via Dimension door to fly him to the last Harpy, which Li was able to long bow kill.
• The party took out 9 Harpies, in a mostly efficient manner.
• Roth then takes out a spyglass to look for the nest of the Harpies, and with a roll of 31, see a cave in a cliff about a mile and half away. Roth send Olly & Branwen to scout the cave, while the party loots the bodies.
• Olly reports back to report that the cavern is empty expect for some twigs, branches, bones, and various food items.
• The total gold for loot was 2,780 gold, with 463 gold per person, including Magmabrew's share.
• The party also found the following items : 9 long bows (1 is +1 to Roth), 9 quivers of arrows, +1 Elven Chain shirt (Magmabrew), +1 dagger with golden filagree hilt (Alethra), Mace with brass handle (sun & moon motif) (Scarlett), White Opal necklace (150g), Silver/Garnet Ring (85g), 4 copper bracelets (25g each), gold ring with signet (hidden poison compartment) (100 g), Pearl and Ruby necklace (300 g), Rapier, Silver Hand guard in spiderweb pattern engraged with Death Toll, deals additional 2d6 radiant damage to undead (Roth).
• The party then travels on for the rest of the day.
• After the mini-mansion is cast, the items are identified and distributed. Roth loans a +1 short sword to Li, since he took 2 items.
