Session 63 - June 11, 2020 Report

General Summary

1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Ruamil) 10th Day
  • Ari casts Dispel Magic on Merry Merry, they chat about what to do with the dryad as Merry is now no longer charmed, but Scarlett still is. Ari is not sure where Roth went, but knows he poured something at the roots of the tree. The 3 tieflings hide and wait to see what happens.
  • 1.5 hours later, two twig blights began to run around and play (no one in the party realized what they were), and they ran around for an hour being silly/stupid. It was highly entertaining to both the corrupted dryad, and the rest of the party. Ari crept closer and cast Detect thoughts, and mainly got crazy laughter and silliness.
  • Ari figures out the the twig blights have been drugged likely with the cactus juice. She whispers to Roth, who replies about leaving.
  • The party then heads back to camp, arriving around lunch time and dispels the magic on Scarlett.
  • Ari goes to talk to Nordin, asking for help and persuading him to let her use the sending in stone, which he is happy to do.
  • The party discusses who to reach out to, deciding to send a message to the Lady Marisha, the Arch Druid.
  • The party asked how to deal with the creature, and if Lady Marisha could offer guidance or help. Lady Marisha suggested regrowth or blessing, and if those do not work, killing the corrupted creature.
  • Later that afternoon the party returns to the tree, each with a container of holy water and the idea that Scarlett can cast Lesser Restoration on the tree, in an effort to heal it.
  • The dryad summons many minions to watch the process of the “blessing” of the tree, with Merry and Roth speaking to the dryad in sylvan and allowing them to dunk the tree in holy water, and Scarlett then casts Lesser Restoration, seeing some of the bark start to regrow over the rot.
  • The party leaves for the evening, where they stay overnight. They warn Nordin that they may solved the problem, but want to check back in the next morning. Nord is pleased that there has been some progress made.
  • Bards play for the camp.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Rubrar) 11th Day
  • The party heads back to the grove, and converse with the dryad, who is much friendly and is less dark and rotting. She is more friendly, and allows Scarlett to cast lesser restoration on the tree and use the holy water at the roots.
  • The party discuss with the dryad the loggers, who want to come in the cut down some of the trees, and Roth suggests that the dryads mark out a small section as their own, with ribbons and shells in the branches, and a small circle of stone around the area.
  • The dryad asks the party to give her 2 days to arrange everything.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Ruaoth & Ruavan) 12th & 13th Days
  • The party rests in camp, Ari and Roth see a unicorn bunny.
  • Ari goes out in search of unicorn bunnies, and spend the next two days tracking it to it’s layer and trying to make friends. The bunny likes her, but does not get too close. Roth practices the viol most of the day.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Ruanes) 14th Day
  • The party accompanies the loggers into the section of the woods, which is now surrounded by a small 6 in tall wall of stones, with ribbons and shells on the various trees outside.
  • The party makes a circuit and confirms the area and asks the party what offering to leave the dryads. The consensus is flowering plants.
  • The party stays just outside the circle while the logger work to clear and area around it, so there is no confusion later. The dryad peaks out to see what is happening and grows some daisy plants for Scarlett.
  • The party returns to camp and gets a letter of confirmation that the job was complete.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Rualar & Lafael) 15th & 16th Day
  • The party heads back to the city. They travel for two days with no issue.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Fisro) 17th Day
  • Since the Elephant can now be summoned, the party finishes up the travel back to the city, dismissing Gertrude before entering the city on foot. Around 8 pm.
  • Judith is surprised to see the party, and a little flustered that she does not have dinner prepared. Roth and Ari go out separately for food at different taverns, Roth Wandering Waves, Ari Secluded Garden. Scarlett and Merry both have a nice long bath and then head to bed.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring () 18th - 29th Day
  • The party then has down time for the next 11 days.
  • Ari goes to turn in the contract at the Adventures Guild and is given 400 gold for each party member. She distributes the funds that day.
  • She gets a list of monster parts for underground monsters.
  • Ari - spend some time in the social circuit, spends 1 week learning dwarvish, spends 5 days on a gambling tournament, winning 300 gold, spends a few evenings at the Gold Room with Roth working on drunken dwarvish, and plays at a few taverns.
  • On the last day of the month, Ari picks up the sword from Korfel, which does lightening damage, (for 1 min, 3 times a day) and he can upgrade it later if he has more time. she pays the second 200 gold for it.
  • Scarlett - goes to the docks and works on using her ring of water walking to practice navigation on water on foot, she also spends some time catching fish and in meditation with her fountain/deity. Scarlett takes time to speak with Phillip and work on the pets in her aquarium.
  • Roth spends the days in the library mostly working on his research project, and eventually finds a way to make an illusion spell last until it is dispelled, but it would require a lot of power to make it work.
  • He also stops by to thank Lady Marisha for her advice, and tells her what happened. She is impressed and is glad that the group could help one of that forest guardians. She thinks this is not a normal dryad, as it could summon dryads and twig blights (Roth tells of their playing/dancing) and called it a forest guardian.
  • Roth goes to to Crocked Quill to see Vadalia. When he arrives, the reception Milly is interested in Roth, who is going to Brazenthrone, and asks if he were interested in a job. He is able to get that the more information he can get about the city, wards, and how to get in, he will get a fee. If he can procure a “unique magical weapon”. He would get 50,000 gold for the item.
  • Roth then speaks with Valida, she tells him about the Shadows, the dwarvish version of this thieves guild. Mentions he will be staying in the visitor quarter, and not allowed to leave, she mentions the clan emblems, which each dwarf uses to get around.
  • She then gives him a "rental" sending stone (at the guild rate), 1 cast of sending, every 3 days. 25 gold rental rate. He pays 30 gold for her time.
1305 - 1st Moon of Spring (Korlar) 30th Day
  • The party meets on the docks at dawn to start their journey to the dwarven city.
  • They see Mage Magmabrew in front of a boat, the Lazy Lemur, standing talking to two people. A male human, short, with longer dark hair and a shield on his back and rapier, Li. A female half-elf human, short with a bow-staff, Elethra with red hair.
  • The party is told these two will aid the Tribe of Tails on the escort duty and help if needed when they arrive in the city. They will be returned quickly via magic, 1000 gold per person.
  • The party goes down and sees the quarters, with Li/Elethra and Scarlett/Merry and Roth/Ari in small 2 bunk room. Magmabrew has her own room.
  • Li insights the party, checking to see how he feels about the party, no alarm bells, but all fighters.
  • Ari gives Elethra the globe, which she was “confused” and the smoke was a dark gray-green. Ari makes a note.
  • The party goes on deck and notices a massive flock of seagulls following the party, Roth noting to Li something may be going on, and both Roth and Li pull out long bows.
  • The Captain sees the two adventures draw longbows and mentions it is shrimp seasons. At this point, Roth stores his bow and watches the gulls dive behind the boat picking up food.
  • Scarlett then gets her net and is able to catch a small net of shrimp, which the Tabaxi cook, Spice, takes to make gumbo with, and Roth offers spices from his pot of refilling spices. Scarlett also offers some spices for the random Kabold belt.
  • Roth and Ari chat with Li and Elethra (who was meditating) about dwarvish and get offered tequila. This takes the group to lunch time.
