Session 151 - March 28, 2024 Report
General Summary
3rd Moon of Summer - 1306 - 25 Korar - Water Plane Day 3
- Party approaches the island and tries to get onto land. Due to the rocky cliffs, with no good place to dock and Roth attempting to get the boat close enough to disembark. He was unsuccessful and the party swims or flies over on a broom to get onto the lower section of the island.
- They go to the highest point on the island, where a small clearing overlooks the rocky cliffs down to the sea. On the way up, there were no signs of druid markings, human settlement remains or any other marks of people being on the island. The island looks to be partially volcanic and long dormant or part of a long dormant volcano.
- Roth then flies up and looks for other island options, 32 perception, seeing something north west that would likely be worth exploring.
- The party thinks making their presence known would be a good thing, to try and gain attention and get us closer to the islands that are inhabited. Alethra starts a fire, and using oil from the jug of alchemy, the party sets in to see if anything is drawn to the fire.
- Meanwhile Olly then tries to cook a coconut and picks one that is too green, causing a small explosion. Roth then cuts up a ripe coconut, so that Olly can try to cook it in smaller pieces, and a small array of tiny pieces are laid out at varying distances from the fire as the cooking experiment begins. Results : Olly does not like coconuts.
- The idea to create coconut bombs (malative cocktails) is born, and Olly keeps watch while the party long rests in the mansion.

- Mid morning the party arrives on the island that Roth saw off in the distance, which upon closer inspection seems to be barey an island. The sand bars seem to be long and narrow, supporting a few trees and broken up by small shallow areas of oceans into a small chain of islands.
- At the very end of this chain of islands, there is a large rock that seems very out of place in such a shallow and sandy island. There is a message on the rock which is in dwarvish, listing "Rock-break was here" and then 38 tally marks for what seems like the number of days spent on the island.
- There is also an arrow pointing N-NE, and after Roth uses the wand of secrets, he finds a small area where there are some naughty etching in a less easily seen area of the rock.
- Roth then flies up very high and in the direction of the arrow, he sees an island in the far distance. It will take about 5-6 days to get there, but the party sees this as the best clue that they have so far.
- As the group departs and heads in that direction, Roth feels that the boat is sailing into the current and does his best to navigate around it, but it is going to be a slow trip.

- Island is in sight and it seems like a horse-shoe shape with a natural harbor in the middle.
- The boat is sailed into the middle of the horse-shoe island's inner natural harbor, and there are no signs of other boats, but the shallow sands at the top of the bay do allow for the boat to be beached and the island explored.
- Going left, the party explores the arm around the cove, finding some small crabs, some sea shells, and a conch shell, as well as some coconuts and light vegetation.
- Backtracking and going to the other side of the bay, there is a small dense area of trees, where a small cave is situated, and nearby is a tiny stream of fresh water. After exploring the cave, the interior is found to be worked stone as well as the natural space inside the cave. A deeper review finds more dwarven ruins stating "Rock Breaker's home" and 17 tally marks.
- A decision is make to then walk directly from the cave area to the beach, and it seems like there is a small area nearby where boats may use as a place to beach, or it be a drop off point on a trade route. Due to the growth of kelp, it has been awhile since there was any craft in these waters.
- Althera suggests that there may be a trading route or a rescue route where people can be picked up or taken away based on the cave and fresh water source. The party thinks about staying here and lighting another fire so that their presence is announced.
- Fen wants to try and scry on Alethra's mother, with the hopes that they can figure out where she is based on weather and the sun in the sky, so he takes him to attune to the Crystal Ball and is able to successfully see "his Elly". Since this also allows for telephay, Fen tries to speak with her, but his face goes through confusion and anger, and then he drops the spell.
- After telling the party that the person he spoke with claims to not be Elly, he dropped the spell, and he needs a few moments to compose himself. The group lets him go and they ponder if a scry can accidentally get a similar person (unlikely) or if there is another reason.
- A medical check confirms memory loss is an option, especially if there was an injury on the way through the plane rift or how Elly got to the plane. There are many options and also many solutions, but they would have to investigate the patient, ie Elly, before they could do a diagnostic exam.
- Roth then picks up the go piece of fate, and confirms it is Alethra's mother in the scry, and then he goes to comfort Fen with some rum, and he returns, sad and determined, and wants to make a plan.
- The consensus is the light a fire for the smoke-day and light-night, while tomorrow using the spell sky write to in common, elvish and dwarven communicate "At Rock Break's Home" and then a V pointing to the location. The materials are collected for the fire so that is can burn throughout the late afternoon and night, and the party will take watches to make sure someone is awake.
- Watches - Merry, Fen, Roth, Alethra. Roth sees some giant crabs in the bottom of the bay that Olly investigates.
- Long Rest
- The next morning as Roth begins his sky write spell, he notices an odd pattern to the water, and sees a few giant crabs begin to emerge from the lagoon and head up the beach. Roth then shoots an arrow, killing one. Althera takes out 4 with her shatter spell, and Merry, not to be outdone casts freezing sphere, takes out the other 10.
- The 15 crabs are gathered up and the party begins to butcher and pack the meat in the bag of colding, as well as preparing some meat for either lunch or dinner that day.
- There is some movement in the water, and several sharks are seen swimming nearby in the water, where the battle took place, and the remains or at least some of the crabs likely attracted these creatures.
- After studying them, these seem like pretty normal Maeko sharks, 3 of them, and likley wanting a crab snack.
- Fen reminds the group that the deep sea people have an affinity for sharks, and can use them as helpers or possibly spies. Alethra is now nervous, but as the sharks drift away, she calms down. Roth finishes the Sky Write spell, it will be up for 1 hour.
- During the preparations, a small piece of coral washes up on shore, bleached white and resembling a castle. Roth picks it up as a souvenir/paperweight.
