Session 150 - March 14, 2024 Report

General Summary

3rd Moon of Summer - 1306 - 22 Fisal
  • Roth learns that Fenna, the tattoo artist, is in town and wants to meet her and hear about what she learned about druid tattoos. Since the rest of the party has nothing else to do, Roth sends a message to Fen, asking him to come down with Beartrum, and then the humans will meet at the tavern, with Beartrum staying at the town home until they are all ready to head to the water plane.
  • Plans to meet Fenna for dinner at the Wandering Waves, and there is then some conversation about the Kraken rings and how the lightning will work underwater. It is decided that Althera will go chat with Tristian and if he doesn't know, he can bring the question to Marisha, who will hopefully know the answer.
  • Alethra goes to the University and visits Tristian. She has a cup of tea and talks about the dinner they are having and invites him along, as well as asking him the lightning magic in water question, hopefully that Lady Marisha can answer before tonight. There is much awkward adorableness.
  • Fenna meets Roth, Alethra, Fen, Merry and then Tristian for dinner, where they have a lively conversation about many topics. Fenna was on her boat and while at the last stop, she found about a Druid Tattoo, which matches whichever circle they are, and that tattoo seems to amplify part of their circle abilities. The Druids attune to that landscape, usually a real place they have studied. Fenna was unable to get any details on how it works, but she is willing to do a little more research, and is happy to see if someone (like the higher ups) can get her a pass to visit the Dragonborn kingdom.
  • Merry asks about proficiency in performance, which Fenna has never done before, but she is willing to look into it. Trisitan is interested in improving his Intelligence, and will work on the funds for the tatoo. 
  • There is an answer to the question of magical lightning underwater.  There is a little more damage, and there is a chance that someone close to the target may take a little damage. 
  • It is decided that Tristian will watch out for Tiny Tim, and the little good berry shrub from the Winter Fey while they are all gone. 
3rd Moon of Summer - 1306 - 23 Renlar - Water Plane Day 1
  • After the conversation about food in the water plane, the party stops by Korfel's shop early, and picks up an Alchemist's jug, which produces a variety of liquids, and gives the party more options than Good Berry. 
  • The party returns to the back garden and Roth casts Water Breathing on everyone, while Fen casts Water Walking.  Roth then casts Telepathic bond, and the party really hopes they do not end up underwater too deep when they head over the water plane.  After saying good bye to Judith, Fen takes the fork and casts Plane Shift. (71)
  • The party arrives in the water plane, about 20 ft underwater, and then shoots up to the surface.   The party surfaces and sees they are in a light blue sea, shallow waters, gentle rolling waves and a mid-morning sun shining. 
  • Fen thinks that the group landed in the shallows, and so Roth opens up the folding boat into the largest form, and the party hops on.  Roth then climbs up to the crows nest, feels silly, climbs down, and flies up on his broom. He sees 2 rocky islands to the north about 40 miles away, and a smaller sandy island about 14 miles to the west. 
  • Set a course for the smaller sandy island and arrive there around sunset. (about 7 hours of sailing)
  • The Sun cycle seems normal and at the same time as in their normal plane. Fen casts water walk, and Roth folds up the boat and the party explores a very small and sandy barrier island. Fen catches a few crabs for dinner, less likely due to Beartrum trying to help. Only catching 3, so crab cake appetizers. Dinner is in the mansion, and Olly takes some time to learn Abyssal for 4 hours, and projects the time on the water.
  • At night the moon is full, small and much bluer. The sea seems more like the Astral Sea than stationary stars.
3rd Moon of Summer - 1306 - 24 Koral - Water Plane Day 2
  • Quiet day at sea, learning Abyssal, sleep in mansion on boat at night.
3rd Moon of Summer - 1306 - 25 Korar - Water Plane Day 3
  • Late afternoon when the party gets close to the islands.  The larger one is more north east, so they sail to that island. Roth does a broom fly over and does not see any signs of humans, but a few birds and lizards.  The decision is to land on the island to see if there are any signs of previous habitation and then spend some time on land.
