Space Travel

The Frame Shift Drive

While an FSD is found throughout the Mirium Dynus Quadrant, it's installation into a ship and its design are extremely varied. From the bare-boned standard that the New Terran Societies use, to the extravagant, possibly sentient systems found in other areas of the quadrant, each species and territory have expanded upon the universal design to make each version unique. An FSD has two modes: Supercruise, which involves Faster than Light travel and is used to travel within a system, and jumping, which involves a path of hyperjumps to get from point A to point B, jumping from system to system.

The Neutron Highway

The Neutron Highway is a plotting course consisting of mostly neutron stars and a few fuel-scoopable stars. It involves supercharging a ship’s drive at an end of a neutron star’s wing to allow for longer hyperspace jumps system-to-system. This allows for faster travel across the quadrant, but it also wears down and could potentially damage a ship’s drive in return. It also is possible for a ship to enter a neutron’s wing too close to it’s body, which can cause a ship to become caught in its wings and unable to escape.
Space Travel in the Mirium Dynus Quadrant is entirely based upon the space travel in Elite Dangerous.
