Rigel System

With an artificial debris field made up of fused metal and miscellaneous construction materials surrounding it, Rigel is a disaster zone with a Red Giant glowing like an eye in its middle. Its star is orbited by two planets, with only one gem among them.

Rigel A: Red Giant

Class M. Fuel Scoopable. Very common.

Rigel A-1: Swamp Planet

This planet is heavy with humidity and thick with mud and sludge. People have disappeared here, their ships missing, and any effort to investigate have quickly followed suit, until no one dares to bring it up.

Rigel A-2: Ice Planet

Unlike other ice planet found in the Surro Aster Cluster, this planet is made completely of hardened ice from it's first layer to its last. Because of the few hot seasons on this planet, the ice has melted to form cavernous indentations and sharp edges everywhere. The mountains here are more like shards and icy spikes reaching up to the sky. Although it has a breathable atmosphere, so far no one has settled here.

• Rigel A-2 a: An empty rock, partially excavated until realization hit that there was nothing there.


• Rigel A-2 b: Another lifeless planetoid, this time left alone. It is thought that Rigel A-2 a and b were once one planetoid, split apart somehow.


• Rigel A-2 c: Unlike its sisters, this misshapen rock is filled with treasure: gold lines every rocky face, traveling deep toward the core of this moon. However it has not been mined, as currently a base, so far unnamed, is being built.
