In the summer of 1562, the Essukad started a war against the Ithelenoi.
The Essukad first host marched north as the navy, bolstered from ships from Talasa, sailed towards Ithelen. The first host , led by Amarhad Ibbys, sieged the isles and conquered them. The second host, embarked on the fleet and conquered the capital of the Ithelenoi before it continued on towards Soranna in the winter of 1563.
At the same time, the first host landed in the Delta region of Harret and gathered the clans of the region before attacking the Arkhai clans in the hills and scattering them. The host then marched upriver to suppress the local Laus towns in the river valley. Leaving a few clans as garrison, the main army spent a while preparing before invading Ornemere in the spring of 1564. They secured the south and held it without going north.
At the same time, the first army faced severe harassment as it marched through the hills and jungles as well as a lack of provisions. This caused the army to turn around and head back to Ithelen where they rested for the winter. In the spring of 1564 they attacked Sitala, and forced them to pay tribute with soldiers and gold. They spent the remainder of the year constructing trails and paths north along the coast and repairing old imperial bridges and roads towards Soranna.
In 1565, the war took off as the campaigns truly begun. The Essukad second army invaded the Ornemeri delta where they were met with resistance from warriors all over Anosfae that had been gathering. In the east, the first army had reached the city of Eghora and had taken it, but at this time the merchant ships had escaped to the north. Hearing the news that the city of Soranna might soon be taken, the King of the Essukad prepared to depart the capital towards Eghora and would leave in late 1566. At the same time, the Ornemeri forces were pushed back from the southern part of the delta.
In 1566, the King of Korthaidh as well as many of the Anesari cities met the Essukad second army in battle, routing them in a pyrrhic victory. The Essukad army escaped towards Harret, and began to rebuild as it called on many of the other clans to bolster their forces. The Essukad King Hashutum arrived in Ithelen and was paid tribute by the Sitalans and neighboring tribes while a siege began in Eghora, led by the Ornemeri and Soranni forces who were bolstered by the navy of Ornemere and Yirenes.
The next year of 1567 saw the Thadians and Anesari march an army south to the Delta where they fought a great battle and defeated the Essukad. The king of the Thadians, Dekarann, died. At the same time, the Ornemeri and Yirenes Navies caught the transport fleet of Essukad that was heading to Eghora. The Yirenes navy began the battle on the foggy morning, while the Ornemeri navy came from behind and together they defeated them under the command of the Admiral Sikkime of Ornemere. This total defeat of the navy saw king Hashutum killed and the Essukad army collapse with the exception of a few forts near Ithelen and the river delta. The Thadians retreated while the Ornemeri and Anesari capitalized on the defeat to liberate Ithelen, Ornesa, and the Islands of the Soramari. The war would end in the summer of 1568 when the new Queen King promised peace in the region.
