Sivirri an Ilsairi

Overview

History

Early Childhood

Crown Prince Sivirri (Full name: Ilsivirri Ilvanse Irumi an Ilsairi) was born the 19th of Seltane of 1550, as the younger brother to Prince Kiarase (born summer 1548, Kiara) and Princess Illiamse (Born fall 1544). His parents were King Ilseret of Ischurrai and Princess Illia of Immestrai. He was born under a comet, a sign of great honor, but was nevertheless left as the secondary heir. As a child Sivirri was shown to be quite intelligent and in tune with the magical aspects of the universe, producing his first flame at 3. This caused a bit of panic and plenty of fires over the years.
He spent many of his formative years with his mother's family as his primary family was more concerned with raising Kiara as the heir. This led to him growing up primarily around the city of Illoreanna, where he was treated with high esteem as it was assumed he would come to rule the city. The familial estate on the isle of Ajoimi presented itself a good home. Growing up, he was inseparable from his friend Muras Isari. Muras was born on the same day and so he was taken from his family to be Sivirri's personal assistant and friend as was Immestri custom when a prince is born. To much of the populace, he was known as eccentric and mysterious due to the fact he rarely showed his face at court.
At the age of five, he was given his first sword and sent east to the temple of the Ilsairi by the border of Alsivai to learn the Niedene Magick forms. At the age of 10 he would be permitted 2 years return to his family in Illoreanna. At this time, he would be described as a personable but shy person. He would spend much of his time at the libraries while his brother would train to be a warrior with the finest spellswords at the Ischarri court, often the two would be caught arguing and hated each other. He would build a great relationship with his grandfather Ilusang and uncle Il'akhara and his servant Kirvai, often going on trips with them. This culminated when his grandfather and uncle took him on a trip to the far north to discover the temple of Izen and map out the Ukornumar subcontinent to the far north. Here he would see his first battles in the form of skirmishes with the Auyuri Niedene, and later the Izen cultists.
These experiences helped push him out of his shy nature into the path of becoming a spellsword. He returned to the monstery, learning from the warrior monks of the Alsivai, who had come to see his potential. These monks became great friends to him as he learned eastern customs and eventually studied for a summer at Ilusirn monastery by the lake, supposedly seeing the great catfish spirit that calls the lake home.

Later Childhood

His life would change in 1563 when his mother would become ill and he was set to take the throne of Immestrai. However, he would be taken hostage by a group of nobles demanding that the general Isarko rule the realm instead. He would stand up for himself with no weapon, leading to minor injuries to his left hand and a broken arm before being recaptured. After the terms were negotiated, his uncle had planted an army in the woods surrounding the castle. The rebel nobles were betrayed and were all killed with a warrior presenting Sivirri his captor's head. Although he had been saved, his uncle (second cousin, first removed) Eksurai claimed the throne of Immestrai for himself while Sivirri and his mother were exiled to Ischarra to live with his father. This caused him to feel more isolated towards people as time went on, seeing only the worst in people.
Following the exile, Sivirri would be sent to a different monastery at Ishkerr and begin to train heavily in the offensive uses of magic as well as mysticism. Here he would meet his lifelong friend, Sissho Kimura. Sissho was an intelligent and skilled youth at the monastery who was the primary heir to the city of Kivilais. The two would bond and Sissho would swear his service to Sivirri. His friendship with Sissho led to the drafting of his own set of followers, the Zissenza.

Teenage Years

Sivirri would train and become proficient until the year 1565, where he would return home to Escharia for good. At this point he would learn administration under his father and how to assist his brother in governing the realm. During the winter solstice, his brother would insult him by calling him a weak coward who ought to return to Immestrai, causing Sivirri to demand an Îlkan (Royal Duel). Kiara agreed and the two met in the courtyard before priest who acted as judge.
Sivirri drew his shortsword, but used magic as his main weapon. Kiara swung his sword and was met with Sivirri blocking and reciprocating the attack with a burst of flame. Kiara finally managed to hit Sivirri with a burst of flame, burning part of his chest and the same hand he had injured earlier. Sivirri winced in pain but got up enraged at the hit. Unable to use his sword, he used his flame more liberally at this point. Several things caught fire and he got his brother to the ground before the priest and his sick mother Illia stopped the young prince. Sivirri was declared the winner and became the primary heir.
Sivirri would be joined by his friendly uncle Il'akhara and begin to explore the world searching for religious artifacts, and holy sites. At the age of 16 he set off on an expedition with his closest followers to the isle of the Black Heart. This isle was where an artifact of the gods ended up, and cult formed around it. Sivirri and his men landed on the isle on a snowy day where they surprised the cultists with a full-on assault. The warriors made short work of the cultists and Sivirri had obtained the artifact of the gods. Their next destination was to be the temple of Izen, however they received news that Ilseret had died in war. Sivirri was heartbroken and stressed, however his friend Sissho was there to support him. Sivirri began to rush home and arrived in Lileanen. He was met by Sissho, who brought what men he could from Alsivai and was gathering men. Sissho told Sivri that his brother was raising the east in rebellion to contest the throne with the support of the enemies who killed his father, that peasants were rising up in the west, and how Immestrai under his maternal uncle was arming themselves; the young king had much work to do.
