Kingdom of the Faeding Vales

Structure

The current Fae King resides at the very heart of his Mother Tree, the Weeping Wisteria of the Sun and Moon. It is the King's duty to protect his Mother Tree as in turn, she protects all of her children. Should she wither and die, so too will her sons and daughters perish. The King appoints his Royal Guardens as they tend to the Mother Tree to ensure her survival, also for everyone else. However, the Royal Guarden position is not so easy as it seems, she is under constant threat by forces of the world.

Royal Guarden

As simple as this position may seem, it is actually the most daunting - second to the King's position. How one is chosen for the career is by a much more simple task. Taking care of a tiny version of the Mother Tree: Bijou Wisteria. Their menial task become's their greatest responsibility - if one is so chosen. For such a job the King appoints 12 of them, although small in number, the necessary it is.

Royal Watch

A less difficult task, or at least that is the rumour, is the Royal Watch. These are the King's "police", so to speak. They do not don special attire, but rather are ordered to blend in with society. It is not known the number of them, but the King has offered this incognito position to civilians and not only to those that are weatlthy, or of "noble blood", as they say. The point of this job is to go about daily life in secret of the position granted to them and if something is amiss, they must see it through - no matter the cost.

Keeper

Those who are sent to prison, Keepers act as security and make sure the prisoners are... well secured.

Royal Servants

Lady Servant and Gentleman Servant

These two are in charge of the servants: Maids and Manservants. They are not just overseers, but also to help those that are falling behind schedule. They are also refered to as Regulators, respectively so.

Mythology & Lore

The Weeping Wisteria of the Sun and Moon was not always as she is now, a Mother Tree. She was believed to be the most beautiful Fae woman to have ever lived. Caught by the ears of the King, he had to see her for himself. He went away at nightsleep, away from prying eyes and against certain protest from his council. There he stood captivated by her fair beauty, magnified by the luminessence of the moon and shimmer from the water's reflection upon her face.   However, she was imprisoned by something he could not see. There was a certain song she sang as she looked into the lake at her reflection. Tears running down her fair skin, making the surface of the water cause a rippling effect. As the King secretly observed, he listened to the words.... But it was a language he did not understand, nor had he ever heard it before. Her song cut him to his very core and couldn't help but fend off unwated tears.   The Fae beauty broke off suddenly and looked up into the night's sky. "The stars are gone..." Her eyes weary from weeping and yet a deep determination. The King took his chance to reveal himself and hopeful of her acceptance, but upon hearing her utterance, he too looked up and saw the deep abyss of unending pitch darkness. He called out to her, ready to sound the alarm though he was too late. Startled, the woman turned to face who called to her, but all she could muster was a sorrowful smile and faintly whispered her name before she moved to the centre of the lake.   "Laramie."   The King couldn't understand what she was doing and began moving towards her to get her to safety, but before he could get any closer, the fair maiden made a swift motion, gathering up water and positioning her hands above her. As she looked into the deep abyss, she turned into the Mother Tree to protect all she cared about. Her homeland and its citizens.

Worship

Many turn to water and use their spirit magic to shape the Mother Tree that Laramie turned into. Doing so, they sing the same song she once sang, or so they say.

Granted Divine Powers

It is believed that Goddess Laramie will heal those afflicted with illnesses and injuries by the water trees created by spirit magic, and accompanied by the song she sang so many centuries ago.

Very interesting history to the kingdom. I really like the different roles you have throughout society too. I like the Royal Watch, especially as they go about their business kind of incognito.
