The diamonds from the Aedirn and its surrounding valley is said to be some of the highest quality diamonds found on the continent. 
The diamond mines of Aedirn is relative new ones, the first mine was opened just 100 years earlier when a kid found what she believed to just be a shiny rock, brought it back home, and it was shown to a merchant that it was discovered that it was a diamond, soon after everyone was searching for diamonds and soon enough an economy sprung up in the area, digging for diamonds, refining diamonds, selling diamonds and most important of all, the infrastructure to support such an operation. 
the small sleepy village of Aedrin almost overnight went from just farming and living a normal common life to being a major producer of diamonds and the population growing from just over 100 people to several thousand.
