The Party rescues a member of The Fool from Silverward's Keep slated for execution, then is forced to travel to Hillfar, but not without being ambushed by goblins.

The following morning, the Party gathered in the dining area of The Godly Mice Inn. A moment later, Berga Dustbrook entered hurriedly, in search of the Party members. She told them that one of their members had been taken prisoner and was being held at Silverward Keep; she was set for execution the next day. The Party agreed to help, but at a price: a discount at Creti's Enchanted Emporium, 20 gold pieces, and Madeline Lada's missing necklace. Berga agreed and met up with the Party in front of Creti's a few minutes later.   At the store, Typhon negotiated sale of the necklace to Creti, in exchange for a map of the city's sewer network and 15 gold pieces. The Party then headed off for the nearest sewer entrance.   The Party arrived at the main storm drain in Silverward Keep and stealthily entered the main keep grounds. They were surrounded by large, heavy walls which blocked their view. Vigwalin turned into a rat and began scouting the area. He counted one prisoner, six guards, and one Drow man dressed all in black. Vigwalin snuck into the Drow's room, transformed into a boa constrictor and accidentally killed him. Vigwalin returned to the group with keys to free the prisoner and the Drow's ring, which Sir Didymus recognized as bearing the symbol of The Sovereign's Shadow, a shadowy organization answerable only to the king or queen themselves. Sir Didymus sneaked over to the prisoner's cage, releasing her, and almost made it back to the group when they were spotted by a guard. As the other guards rushed to help, one guard fired his crossbow, only to have it misfire and break. Bloodbane cleaved a guard in half with his battleaxe. The Party escaped back into the sewer tunnel right as the guards were descending on them. Before they could give chase, Typhon froze the sewage water into a giant block of solid ice!   The Party returned to the alleyway where they met Jencerys Paren the night before. There, they met with Berga Dustbrook and returned the prisoner to her group. After taking a look at the ring they brought back, Berga told them that it belongs to the Sovereign's Shadow, and that the Party should lay low for a while. The Party then returned to The Godly Mice Inn before departing...   After killing a town guard and a member of the clandestine The Sovereign's Shadow, the Party returned the prisoner to The Fool only to find out that she was actually Jencerys's cousin. This welcome bit of news, coupled with the events at Siverward Keep, led to the Party being told to keep a low profile as guard patrols in the town were increased. The Party made one more stop at The Godly Mice Inn to pick up Thurgramm Hammersmith before headed to Creti's for any last minute items. As they were walking out of the emporium, however, a guard approached them, as members of the Party fit the description of attackers on the keep. A last minute successful deception by Thurgramm and Party members convinced the guard that they were but humble jewelry merchants in need of some help to get back up on their horse-drawn cart before headed to their next stop. On the way to Hillfar, the Party was ambushed by a pair of Goblins! The fiends were quickly dispatched in valiant acts of combat by Typhon and Vigwalin. A crudely drawn map depicting the local area with some strange, indecipherable runes was recovered.   The Party, upon arrival in Hillfar shortly thereafter, decided to stop at The Marvelous Prince Tavern for some refreshments and lodging. As the sun set and the rain began to come down, they listened to the story of one of the townsfolk. He told the Party of recent Goblin raids and of children disappearing into the woods under mysterious circumstances...
