Merchant's Guild

The Merchant's Guild is a prominent organization fostering commerce and prosperity within settlements' bustling markets. Founded on the principles of unity and opportunity, the guild supports its members through training, resource sharing and collective negotiation. With a strong leadership council and various departments, the guild ensures commerce flourishes, disputes are resolved and members thrive. Its influence can be found in the markets and ports of nearly every major city and town across the world.

Structure

The Merchant's Guild is broken up into individual chapters typically bound to a town, city, or other settlement. These are all set up more or less the same, depending on how many personnel each chapter has available.
  • The leader of a given chapter is referred to as a Guildmaster. This role is elected every six years through a blind vote from the local chapter guild members.
  • The Deputy Guildmaster is a position that traditionally goes to the second-place candidate. Their role is to support the Guildmaster in the execution of their vision.
Each chapter also has a Council of Masters, made up by the most senior guild members available. These roles include:
  • Master of Trade: This commerce expert has experience in negotiation, has an extensive business network, and is charged with the expansion of guild activities.
  • Master of Finance: This position handles treasury management and collection of fees.
  • Master of Logistics: Possibly the most critical position in the Council of Masters, this role ensures that supply chains remain undisrupted and goods and services arrive on time and intact. The successful execution of this role is vital to maintaining the reputation of the guild.
