Giant Hills Hunters Lodge
The Giant Hills Hunters Lodge is a building located in the Giant Hills of Keodal District, roughly 35 miles north of Greyhelm. It is frequented by hunters, rangers, and druids and is usually kept stocked by the Specters of the Ram.
Purpose / Function
The Giant Hills Hunters Lodge serves as a rest and resupply location for rangers patrolling the eastern edges of Keodal District district. There is normally ample room on the second level for visitors and enough supplies for a short duration. However, the lodge periodically plays host to ritual or religious gatherings of rangers and druids, most notably the Divine Hunt and the Celebration of Arawai in early July.
Design
The building is a simple rectangular design, with each floor measuring 95 ft x 45 ft. The main level also has an open semi-circular balcony accessed by a double door in the center.
Sensory & Appearance
The rows of lilies planted near the entrance fill the air with a creamy, clove-like scent during their early bloom, which eventually becomes more salty and savory as the weeks pass. The lodge's position on the top of a hill and the summer breeze usually carries the scent all the way down the hill, which helps to lure in visitors and lets people know that they are near.
Contents & Furnishings
The lodge is quite comfortable on the inside. It has three floors: the basement which is storage; the main floor which is used as a common area; and the top floor which is where the bedrooms are. There is no indoor plumbing, but a nearby well provides water for cooking and a streams in the area - tributaries for Halinora Creek - are often used for bathing or washing clothes.
The common area has a bar, a fireplace, multiple bookshelves, couches, and tables. Weapon racks serve any visitors as storage for their gear.
Architecture
The building rests atop the edge of a hill, with a steep drop off to the east. A path leads from the front door on the west side down the more gentle slope of the hill. The building itself is three floors, with the entrance being set in the middle on the second floor. The ground floor, or basement, is only partially underground, and houses supplies, food, etc. The second floor is home to a well-stocked bar, book shelves, various other resources, and a semi-circle balcony. The top floor is used for guests sleeping.
Tourism
In addition to members of the Specters of the Ram that frequent the building, local hunters and farmers also stop by regularly. The lodge and the Specters are known for their hospitality and charity, which helps to draw various folk from around the local area.
