Education
Damaceus was trained as a doctor in his home city of Brinechill in Aelas. There he specialized in traumatic injuries and learned advanced healing techniques.
Employment
After completion of his studies, Damaceus took up a residency in a nearby hospital, where he worked for many years healing the sick and injured. In 1284, he sought a new life in Oduth and traveled across the sea, spending much of his savings in the process. However, the outright prejudice he faced due to the locals' unfamiliarity with Tieflings contributed to him not being able to find steady employment. He has wandered from town to town ever since, performing odd jobs here and there to get by.
Mental Trauma
In 1289, Damaceus was robbed and beaten by a group of men outside of Embermire. The encounter nearly left him dead and completely broke. He has since struggled to regain his trust in people and has taken to drinking heavily when he can.

Motivation
Damaceus wants to simply be left alone. He can be terse, even more so due to his difficulty with the common tongue. But even more than that, he wants to find a home and some place to be accepted for who he is.

Damaceus can be quick to anger, especially when people look at him strangely. He has been known to get into fights frequently when people comment on his demonic heritage.
