Berga attended school until she was 14 years old. At that point, she decided that she knew all she needed to know and that she wasn't going to learn anymore from a schoolhouse. She then ran away from home where she continued her education in the art of pick-pocketing, gradually learning new skills such as lock picking, knife fighting, intelligence gathering. When she turned 21, she joined The Fool and continued her criminal education.

Berga is in it purely for the thrill. While doing charitable deeds and providing for the needy may be worthy endeavors in and of themselves, Berga is more interested in the rush of a job successfully completed. This leads to a sometimes callous attitude when it comes to some of The Fool's more mundane activities, and there's never any shortage of tension with some of the other group members.
