Tengu

The crow-like tengus are known as a ancestry of scavengers and irrepressible thieves. Intelligent and adaptive by nature, they were originally a very solitary people. Coming together with the Shona, they learned quickly to live in large groups and found they talent for mischief, causing light hearted fun in many social circumstances. They can be highly competitive, but impulsive and rash.   Tengus are natural survivalists. For many, only theft and guile have afforded them the temporary luxuries other ancestries take for granted. Before the convergence, giants sought the bird-folk as slaves and servitors. Many tengus scavenged for survival, scraping for food in the shadows of their masters or living as subsistence hunters and gatherers in the wild. While accepted in Shona society, travelling Tengu are often faced with negative stereotypes, and they rely on thievery and swordplay to get by in a harsh and unforgiving world.
