Hazbuzi

Hazbuzi are a species of sapient bipedal reptilians that originated on the savanna world of Zumaka. Hazbuzi display a natural inclination towards ingenuity, being far more capable of 'thinking outside the box' than most other species in the galaxy. In addition, Hazbuzi have an almost instinctual inclination towards profit and wealth accumulation. They tend to have a good idea of risk management, and naturally seek to acquire wealth or resources. While not necessarily distrustful, Hazbuzi are noted to be inherently socially combative, not commonly reaching consensus on topics. In addition, Hazbuzi are also notable for their rebellious nature, constantly challenging the status-quo of their society. While this has lead to many coups and revolutions throughout their history, it has also led to a love of creative destruction and innovation.

Despite their lack of social cohesion, or perhaps because of it, Hazbuzi display a strong martial tradition. While not considered 'warriors' in the same sense as the Kel-Azaan or Tzynn, Hazbuzi society has long believed in the virtues of courage, discipline, and self-sacrifice, in spite of the natural Hazbuzi inclination away from group consensus. In addition, many Hazbuzi consider themselves fairly spiritualist. To many outsiders, this is at odds with their perceived materialist view of wealth. However, to many Hazbuzi, the accumulation of wealth takes on an almost religious aspect, with many of the religions within the Hazbuzan Syndicate claiming that entering their afterlife requires a life spent accumulating wealth.
