Session 70: The Master Binder - Last Leaf 7 FY 83 Report

General Summary

The PC's, as they walked through the aisles between the various booths and vendors, came across a tent tended by four gnomes. The proprietor was a gnome with a triple curled mustache who called himself Mudflick. These gnomes were selling enchanted weapons gained from a variety of sources. Kay'Zon noticed several of them glinted and shone, and Teldur determined most of the weapons were enchanted. Tor realized the gnomes had his missing Gladius. He traded for it, giving one of the bows he had captured from Shadow Fey, as well as an enchanted potion. Though the PC's were interested in other weapons, they realized that they were money poor, and that they would be unlikely to be able to afford any of the other weapons.
Deeper into the fair, they came across a gnome outside a black silk tent. The gnome invited them to enter, and they saw that the tent was full of enchanted weapons. Kay'Zon noticed that many glimmered from the corner of his eye. Teldur used his powers to confirm that many of the weapons were enchanted. Tor spotted gladius, which stood out due to the width of its blade. When he asked the gnomes about it, they explained a warrior had sold it to them several days before. Seeing Tor's interest, the gnome raised his price. They haggled, and finally settled on Tor trading one of the bows he had captured from Shadow Fey, as well as his potion of healing. Realizing they were unlikely to have the money to purchase other weapons, the PC's moved on.

They came across a smith with a glowing blue hammer named Voyland. Voyland had light golden skin, white hair, and silver eyes. He told Kay'Zon that he imbued his weapons with spirits. Many were direct orders from nobles of the Birch Queen's Court. They asked if he knew how to leave the Summerlands, and he informed them that the wyrm Tatzel was said to have traveled the realms many times, and know holes between realities.   The next tent they came across was of black silk, with a gnome with a triple mustache standing outside. He invited them to speak with his master, a lord of the arcane. Upon entry, the encountered a Shadow Fey spellcaster who called himself Ambertan. Kay'Zon asked for information about ancient spirits, and Ambertan said he might help them, in return for the PC's swearing loyalty to his mistress, Nimurae, Queen of Sorcery and Rot. Tor was reluctant, having witnessed Nephi making a similar bargain. Ambertan changed tact, offering answers, in return for Tor's memories of combing ruins in the mortal world.  Tor agreed, and Ambertan used a ritual to remove the memories from Tor.  In return, Ambertan cast a spell which failed to find a curse.  He suggested that for more information about ancient spirits, they might try speaking with Endëion lossea Morco.  He was an ancient scholar of Thorn, who had been heard to dabble in spirit lore.  He told them the scholar might be found upon the hill where the nobles of the Birch Queen's Court had pitched their tents.  When they asked how to be introduced, Ambertan suggested that as Endëion lossea Morco was a favoured visitor to the Birch Queen's Court, they might try to enter her tournament, in order to gain an introduction.   The PC's walked through the fair, seeking the tent described by Ambertan, and finally found it. Upon seeing it, Nephi realized he had seen it earlier when he first walked through the area. At first, Endëion lossea Morco was unwilling to talk. He remained in his tent and would not invite the PC's in. However, when Kay'Zon began speaking of having located stone tablets telling tales of ancient spirits, in the ruins of the Goblin Wastes, the scholar finally deigned to speak with them. Endëion lossea Morco was an ancient Sidhe, with brown hair threaded with silver, dressed in fine grey robes, and leaning on a crystal staff. Kay'Zon showed him the writings and rubbings they had taken over the last year, and he told them of the Lost. Beings bound to the spirit world. He stated that such spirits predated the fiend tainted magic practiced in the human lands in the modern age.  When Kay'Zon told him about their fear of Tor's curse, he asked why they felt Tor was cursed.  Describing the fate of Radomir Schlenk, Endëion nodded and said that it was rare, but known as "Péle- ana i móna".  In mortal terms, it would translate as "Return to the Womb".  The sage told them that the victims age in reverse beyond their birth, and cease to exist....before being returned to the world in new bodies.  He told them that he might be able to remove such a curse from Tor, but would need time to prepare.  He asked them to return later.   The PC's agreed, and left his tent.
