Session 30: The Summoning - High Summer 19 (FY 83) Report Report
General Summary
The PC's talked with Radomir, discussing his findings. He showed them the translations he was working on.
Forash had been banished to the void, but before his banishment, he had been the Archdevil Typhon, Lord of the First of the Hells. They learned that Forash had originally been an angel in the Heavens, but had fallen to the temptations of Asmodeus, after losing his companion, Meritocious.
Nephi didn't trust this creature, but upon researching at the Temple of Rava, he found no record of Typhon or Forash.
Teldur tried researching at the College, but didn't find an answer either. Radomir asked the PCs to travel to the Margreve in order to speak with one of Baba Yaga's daughters, who supposedly dwelled in the forest. Nephi realized that the members of the Temple of Yarila and Porovit might be able to provide more information about how to find her daughters, who are supposedly some form of nature spirit.
The PC's visited the temple, where they met Ogolai Kiyat, the centaur High Priest of the Green Gods. In their talk with him, he taught them about the legend of the Vila, the supposed daughters of Baba Yaga. He taught them that they could lure or attract Vila through an offering of cakes, ribbons, fresh fruits and flowers. He also cautioned them against approaching Grandmother themselves.
Nephi spoke with Ondlii Firedrake, High Priest of Rava. He brought up his concerns regarding Lady Marek having been kidnapped, and that she may have been compromised or turned into an undead. Ondlii asked Nephi for evidence, and Nephi brought up that he didn't have direct evidence, but felt that having the Commander of the Free Army serving Morgau's undead legions would be a coup for Zobeck's adversary. Ondlii told him he'd take it into consideration, but that he'd advise being cautious around the Lady Marek, and to avoid making accusations in public. Teldur spoke with Guildmaster Orlando at the College, and discussed concerns regarding Lady Marek, and whether she may have been compromised by agents of Morgau. Orlando was interested, but as he somewhat distrusts Teldur, he was unwilling to take the claims at face value. He explained he'd speak with some of the other Consuls and decide what needs to be done. The PC's gathered back at the Hedgehog, where Radomir brought them to the cellar, and showed them how a binding worked. Before them, he summoned and bound Forash. The PC's were somewhat horrified by the experience. During the ceremony, Radomir made an error that resulted in a bad pact. As a consequence, he, Keryth, and Tor were affected by a curse, though at the time they didn't realize it.

Forash was once an angel of the heavens. He was a champion of justice and mercy. However, when Asmodeus first rebelled against the Heavens, Forash was called upon to deliver justice at the point of a sword. He was accompanied by his love, the Archangel Meritocious, the Master of Cleansing Flame.
Over epochs, the angelic pair brought the will of the Heavens to the depths of the Hells, in righteous battle against this new darkness, Evil, that had taken root in the depths of the pit.
Three wars they fought, and always, Meritocious' flaming sword led the fray. In the third battle, Meritocious fell to Asmodeus' trickery.
Retreating to the Heavens, and consumed with sorrow for the loss of his eternal companion, Forash begged for the return of his beloved. His requests were ignored, and it was judged that she had done her duty and died with honour. To return her were defile the meaning of her death.
For ages, Forash wallowed in sorrow, ignoring the War, and unable to move past the loss of half of his heart.
One day, as he sat on a desolate hillside, composing paens to his lost love, a serpent slithered to his side, and spake:
"Why dost thy tears water the Earth, Lord"?
"Lord I am not" Forash replied.
"Surely, one so mighty as you, with wings gleaming as the gates of the heavens has no need for tears" replied the serpent.
"What use is my beauty, my intellect, or the might of my arcana if they cannot return my love to me"? Frash cried.
"Surely, thy Master might return your Love to thee as thanks for thy eternal service" spake the serpent.
"Nay, for I have been instructed that her fate was to die in service to the highest Powers of Heaven" Forash stated.
Slyly, the serpent answered.
"Perhaps thy Masters hold back from returning thy Love not because they WILL NOT, but because they CANNOT. Perhaps thine own power surpasses theirs, and they seek to limit thee".
"My power surpass theirs" answered Forash.
"I shudder before the brilliance of thy gaze, Archangel, and am humbled by thine flaming glory. I know of a tree that bears the knowledge of returning from the lands of no return. For no more reward than the promise of a favour, I could lead thee" the serpent whispered.
Forash, forlorn and bereft from the absence of his love, agreed.
And so Forash followed the serpent, and became trapped. For the Serpent was ever a manifestation of Asmodeus, and he once tainted by Evil, Forash could not leave the Hells.
As the centuries passed, despair turned to anger at the Heavens for trapping him in the Hells, and his shining beauty dimmed.
Forash became a lethal captain in Asmodeus' armies, and in time, an Archdevil, taking the vile name Typhon, Lord of the First.
He served long ages at Asmodeus'
Asmodeus' side, seeking to bring low the Heavens in revenge for their betrayal of him, until he was cast down by the Empyreal lord Ragathiel, and sent screaming into the void.
