A mining outpost of the Tolkien Empire was attacked and destroyed by the dunmer, revealing themselves to them.

A mining outpost of the Tolkien Empire was attacked and destroyed by residents of the Underdark. A few dwarves survived the attack and brought the news to the emperor. They described the attackers as being similar to the elves of their homeland, but with skin dark as the night and a gaze of pure hatred. The emperor later discovered that these were the dunmer, also called drow or dark-elves, and the reason for their attack was that the empire was expanding into their territory in the Underdark. The emperor of course would not allow some subterranean barbarians to get in the way of the empires interests and strengthened its military presence in the Underdark.
