Days 39 - 40

Session 18
The Fellowship share a nightmarish vision in which Baelin is snatched by a coven of hags lead by one with golden coins for eyes. They wake up to find him gone and hasten to Oralunga where promise of a benevolent snake prophet seems their only chance to find their friend. On their journey they meet Harwin, a half orc ranger who is looking for a cure to the soul curse affecting Chult, as someone dear to him is suffering because of it. They reach Oralunga and make it into the temple where they find a guardian naga being ritually bound by yuan-ti. The Fellowship fight to free the guardian, but will this fight be their end? Session MVP: Temor

Day 39

• The party search for a place to camp
• they settle down and toast to living forever, especially baelin who looks healthy as fuck,
• the party begin their watches,
• the party share a dream, figure watches as scully falls asleep, a voice is heard 'that wa ssurprisingly effective, i was sure it would catch them unaware', the figure moves in towards us, the party see themselves from the strangers perspective, skeletal old woman, writhing mass of ants in her hair, she plucks a strand of hair from each person, the hag turns and we see her face, gold coins as eyes, red sores on her face, flaking skin all over her face, baelin wakes up, hag screeches, a blackness distorts the view, two more hags stood over a cauldron, one is a huge figure with a sack over its head snatches baelin and throws him to the hag with gold eyes,

• In the morning the party share their nightmares and then begin to look for clues, they notice huge chicken footed tracks leading towards camp but they disappear,
• they decide to head towards Oralunga, it is inhabited by a benevolent snake spirit who the party may be able to ask where Baelin has been taken,
• They set off from camp
• As they are travelling, they are ambushed by giant boars, they are joined by harwin who was hunting the boars from the bushes,
• When the fighting is over, harwin introduces himself, he had left port nyanzaru as someone close to him has fallen ill to the soul curse,
• The party continue onwards towards oralunga in the evening, the party come to the base of a large ziggurat, on top of which is an opening, the stairs are covered in razor sharp vines and the walls are sheer and slick with rain, solana and scully reach the top of the first level easily, they pull percy up with some issue, temor is pulled up easily, harwin struggles to reach the level too, they eventually reach the next level
• The next set of stairs crumble away whenever the party choose to step on them, percy is able to walk up the stairs no problem and after some deliberation the party realises that percy was able to do so because macawley was sat on his shoulder, the party take it in turns to have macawley land on them and then walk up the stairs
• They eventually reach a final set of stairs, a hooded snake man spots the party then turns and disappears into the temple, the stairs are a trap that crushes people who steep in it, the party realise the stairs have a slow reload time and one by one run through the gap while it is resetting,
• At the top they come to the entrance of the temple, they hear an ominous chanting coming from within,
• as they enter the temple, they see a number of yuan-ti surrounding a large snake creature, a guardian naga, the yuan-ti are conducting a ritual on the naga, they want to teleport it somewhere, the party interrupt the ritual and free the naga, the yuan-ti are ruthless however and scully is slain by a mallison during the fighting.
