Summercamp 2021 Pledge in Notes | World Anvil

Summercamp 2021 Pledge

While I am restricting how much I'll write, I do intend to go into Summercamp with something to focus on. Despite having a lot of worlds, I will only focus on two of them. The others will be backup in case a prompt really draws me but can't find a home in one of these two.

What & Why

Primary project
I will mainly work on Lance Breaker. This Soft Scifi setting is meant for a story with as main character Valya, a former soldier that has been recruited by a bodyguard unit with superpowers. Having been given the superserum, Valya now has to navigate politics while learning to deal with her new powers, and the ticking voice in the back of her head.
Secondary project
The secondary project is Valley of Plenty, a Pathfinder 2 campaign setting. Located in a lost valley, the players are adventures accompanying an attempt to reclaim the valley. While the town grows alongside them, their explorations and findings may very well make or break the pioneering project.

Primary focus

Lance Breaker
Located on an alien planet, there is a literal world to build. However, the biggest element of the story will be how Valya interacts and intersects with society. As such, the biggest thing to flesh out is what society is like. This includes what factions there are, how daily life works, and various forms of innovation. From martial law and face masks, to universal basic income and truck races, will be the main prompt focus for Lance Breaker.
Valley of Plenty
This campaign strives to provide the players an organic setting, with various groups that will grow with them. Rather than fleshing out the entire area in advance, it's about a sense of wonder as they explore. As such, the focus here will be on the valley's mysteries, as well as on the fellow citizens of the new town, from fellow adventurers to shopkeepers.

When & What

My primary dedicated hours will be mondays and thursdays, from 20:00 until 23:00. I intend to also get two hours in every sunday, so 44h minimum. While I may write more, chores and socializing have priority at other times. This limited time does restrict how much I can write, so my goal is 15 prompts.

Methods & Support

With WorldEmber's Advent Calendar, I spent a lot of time on styling some articles, including image-hunting and layout experiments. I also showcased a lot. I will be doing none of that this time around, focusing solely on prompts. For support, I will follow the writing sprints of the Anvilite Streamer Corps.
