Several major conflicts in this world result from the scarcity of resources. Both major industries (concentrated in Alva City) and local cities government are affected by this, posing significant challenges to their stability. No matter how minor, any unexpected disruption can cause major disasters at all levels. Anomalies related to food crops or raw materials availability can potentially lead to dangerous social and political conflicts. Transporting resources has become a critical activity for the entire system’s stability, and a target for ambushes organized by insurgent groups. Consequently, the DADs themselves are used to provide maximum security to periodic missions known as "Escort the Cargo.” Alva City government alternately assigns factions to lead transport operations by all means. Ambushes are led by terrorist groups using their own DADs. They pledge alliance to cities with extreme shortages, anti-system rebels, or mercenaries hired by organized mafias. Pilots experienced in “Escort the Cargo” missions are valuable assets for both sides and receive substantial financial compensation commensurate with their experience and skill. The ease of recognizing the manufacturer of an insurgent DAD is a source of ongoing conflicts between factions.
