Shrine of Searl

Found exclusively in regions under the rule of the Shesire. The Shrine acts as a place of care for the sick and a few for those expecting a child. They are found mostly placed on the edge of any town to show the connection between the natural world and settlement, but there are a few that can be located in the wilderness hidden away by the powerful forces of nature protecting the homes from hostiles.   The way everything works around them is very mysterious and seen as voodoo to outside cultures, they generally let these buildings get covered in moss and vegetation. This connection to the wilderness is very strong and gives the priests the strength to aid those in need.   The act of healing the wounded is through a traditional form of magic where moss is placed upon the wound as a spell is strung through divine energy merging the mosses energy to the wound. The moss is either fetched freshly from the forest or is part of a century old one that grows slowly throughout the Shrine. The moss slowly turns grey and falls off revealing the wound looking almost perfect with the only difference is the slight pale tint it has.   For the sick, they are given a chamber to stay in away from the general prayers while the priests blessed with protecting go to look after them applying a great many remedies until they are fit to leave. In the case, they pass the body is given a burial in Jhetal's Shrine.   Some Shrines are built to incorporate Odhun into the temple featuring an open roof. For pregnancies an expecting family will seek out the Shrine, traditionally taking a pilgrimage, once arrived the pregnant individual is laid on an altar. Aloe is brought from the forest of grown and the sap is placed across the stomach and left to absorb in through the moonlight from the moons. This is a sacred ritual only blessed by those who are married and dedicated to the love of each other.

Purpose / Function

A place to take in the sick, wounded and in a few the pregnant.

Alterations

A few started to incorporate Odhun's Shrine into it as well to join fertility and marriage as one.

Architecture

Built out of dark grey stone and red brick in a gothic style with many arches. There are gargoyles depicting the Totems of the gods.
